Cool, thanks for the opinions guys.

You know what would be fun? Firing up NWN multiplayer the way it was intended to be played. Get a few people, bang out some scenarios, get someone to DM, and have some good old fashioned superdork D&D sessions.
It's something I've always wanted to do all these years NWN has been out, but never got around to doing. Now with it out on GOG, cheap and available to anyone that wants it, I might finally have my chance.
Anyone up for it?
edit: (
http://aurensociety.blogspot.com/2010/07/area-design-v-071610.html) Just look at this. I can't wait to start whipping stuff together. It looks to be infinitely more customizable than it was back in the day.

I AM! That would be good fun, Renz. Gimme a week or so to get the funds together.

Alright! :D
No huge hurry, though. I'm just now finishing up the download, and I'm sure it'll take me at least a few days to get used to the editor and whip up something to goof around with.
But hey, if anyone else is interested, feel free to join in and toss some ideas around.
edit: To inspire confidence, (
http://users.chartertn.net/greymatt/nwn2_forest_swamp.jpg) this is a shot I made back during the NWN2 toolset beta. I wonder if I can do something similar with NWN1.

how do we get in touch? Are you on Steam?
edit: duh, already in my friends list. Anyway, steam is the easiest way to message me. I am always, always logged into Steam if I am on or near my PC.

Conversely, anyone wants to get a hold of me, PM me or IM me. I'm pretty much permanently logged into AIM.

It's going to be a few weeks until I have the dough to pick it up, but once I have it I'd be down for some real role playing Renz.

I've got my disc copy installed right now. Message me when you guys are interested. I'm on Steam in the TTLG-kru group, so I should be easy to find.
Of course, I'm not in Windows very often, so maybe some advanced notice would help :)

My copies of NWN1 Platinum + Kingmaker (so I suppose that's the equivalent of Diamond) is in the other room, so I can install that at any time.

(
http://users.chartertn.net/greymatt/nwn1_swamp_forest.jpg) My first map for NWN1. Looks like you can do stuff close to NWN2.
The toolset is dead easy. Nothing too complicated. You find a good tileset, bang together your layout in about 3 minutes, then start adding in your details. Provided I don't go hog wild and start modeling my own placeables , I could bang together a mini campaign in a week or so.
Damn, this is neat.
Edit: Hey, anyone here play around with the toolset back in the day? I need to know how to add lights, and I can't find anything on how to do it.
