That's the original game in the "shooter" series isn't it? I seem to recall seeing that bundle on sale on Steam several times, with a bunch of "alien shooter" and "zombie shooter" games.

They're some of the most boring, repetitive games ever made, and I say this as the guy who likes that never-gonna-be-Rainbow-6 game, Doom.

I own all the "*.shooter" games. Basically... What dethtoll said.
If you want some fun isometric-style shooters.. get Shadowgrounds, Alien Swarm (either the new one or the original UT2K4 mod) or get the new "Alien Breed" games from Team 17. It's a tenner per episode, its slightly less repetitive, MUCH prettier, good old fashioned fun without the old fashioned grind.
EDIT: Also, all 3 have a co op mode

Right, so there are four adventure games on sale this weekend: The Longest Journey, The Journeyman Project 2, Sanitarium, and Tex Murphy: The Pandora Directive.
I've heard a lot about TLJ; so much, in fact, that I played it for half an hour a couple of years ago and got so bored with it that I woke up to find my lap had been abducted by an equally bored tortoiseshell cat.
I know nothing of The Journeyman Project, and neither does the cat, who seems to be rather more interested in chasing a dust bunny dancing in a draft in the corner of the room, and will probably be back to to leap at the mouse in a while.
Sanitarium, on the other hand, I played a bit of back in the day and seemed to be the cat's whiskers when it came to disturbed adventuring. And Tex Murphy: TPD was the subject of a rather glowing review in PC Gamer of days long past, quite something to note considering it was an FMV adventure game. So I'm downloading both at this very moment.

"Alien Shooter 2" is the only one I've played, but it's great!
It's essentially an arms race between increasing alien numbers/toughness and increasingly-powerful weaponry, but it's really well put together. A bit of a grind on occasion, but it more than makes up for those IMHO.
Add a few light RPG elements into the mix, and you have a fun addictive arcade game.

Let me know how Sanitarium is Sulphur. I saw Tex Murphy there and decided to give it a try. The game is a freaking riot. The graphics suck, and it's cheesy as hell, but it's a whole lot of fun. I very rarely play adventure games but this one has sucked me in mostly because it's not like the usual point and click games I've played in the past.

They were giving away Tex Murphy 1 and 2 for free on GOG a while back. Guess that deal is over? Anyway, they weren't my cup of tea. Even for free.

FWIW, I never played those earlier Tex Murphy games either because they seemed a little too oldschool. Pandora Directive, though? It's great. Like mgeorge said, cheesy and fun, but there's quite a bit of a plot going on mixed in with Roswell and aliens. The detective interface and FMV helps, too.
@mgeorge: I'm playing Sanitarium at the moment, and it's got some irritating pixel-hunting and leaps of logic to the puzzles that I don't recall from way back when. The voice-acting is also pretty dire in many places.
The atmosphere, though, is as disturbing as I remember it. Chapter 2 - the kids, that town, the school... it's profoundly creepy.
Side note: Chapter 2, by the way, is pretty much a video-game version of 'It's a Good Life', a chilling sci-fi short story. You might remember it more clearly as an old episode of The Twilight Zone about a psychotic boy keeping his family in thrall with his mental powers. The short story is so much better, however, neither the game or the TV version are in the same league.
Everyone should read it (

Tex Murphy 1 and 2 are widely regarded as pretty mediocre. From Under A Killing Moon onwards though, it gets good.
