Hmm, no, that wasn't the book I read it in. It was volume 4 or 5 of an anthology. But Dangerous Visions looks very interesting indeed, those are some of my favourte sci-fi authors in there.

Turns out I am mistaken, the short story I'm thinking of (which is very similar to It's a Good Life) is Lord Randy, My Son. That is, if I'm not mistaken about that as well.
And it's a very good anthology, hope you can a) find it and b) enjoy it.

I should probably start a new thread for this, but work on my depot still goes on. I fixed up the trees, cleaned up my textures, and added grass to the mix.
(

What's really neat is all this low poly work is that most of it could probably fit into Thief fairly easily. The trees are just 608 tris, and the grass is only 12. I should offer them up down in the editor's guild.

Jesus, that's fantastic. Maybe you should offer it to the editor's guild - now that they have Dark's source code, they could probably remove any hardcoded limitations in the engine and enable people to make entire forests out of those models.
And that's some brilliant texture work, Renz. Keep it coming, man.

I'm pretty sure I'd enjoy it. :) Finding it is going to be the hard part, though.

How is Waxworks? I VAGUELY remember playing a few minutes of the Amiga ver. but it has been what, 20 years? I don't remember it enough to properly judge it. Thx.

Tyrian has been free for years, but it's nice that GOG is packaging it up and making it visible.

GOG have started releasing games again now that their Christmas sale has ended. The new game today is (
http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/moto_racer_3) Moto Racer 3, which looks good. Personally I can't justify the expense as Moto Racer 2 is $6 and satisfies my bike-racing itch.
gunsmoke on 4/1/2011 at 19:40
Jesus, they want $10 for that? Maybe Witcher 2 needs an extra coder or something...

Today's game release is (
http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/alien_shooter_2_reloaded) Alien Shooter 2, which is a good-fun isometric blast-em-up, but a little on the short side. I've just bought it and will be blowing up lots of aliens this evening :D
[Agree with gunny about Moto Racer 3, btw]
