I was thinking (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deadline_%28video_game%29) Deadline would be a more or less exact fit for the crime scene motif, but since no one's heard of it, Zork makes more sense.

Strange, though; the Police Quest collection seems to only have the remake of PQ1 and not the original AGI version, while GOG's other packs have both contained the original versions of the first games.

It's not like they're selling Pac Man or Tetris or something. The Infocom games haven't been available for a very, very long time now. And the thing about text is that, unlike 8-bit pixel graphics, it doesn't age. Well, mostly doesn't age.
