Heya,
Well, it's real. Maybe this is an old topic, but I'm too stoked to care. lol
It was only a few days ago that I discovered this online. It's a package deal DVD in a bookshelf style plastic case containing Thief Gold, Thief II, and Thief: Deadly Shadows all on one disc. It just arrived in the mail and I'm alternately drooling over it and typing. ;)
I've read a lot of speculation about whether it actually had TG on it, and if it was legal. Well, it does say Thief Gold, and it looks like a professional, legit product.
There are a couple of interesting points worth mentioning, though. First, it appears to be an import from the UK. It carries a "12" rating (age, I assume) on the cover, and lists Mastertronic as the manufacturer. Secondly, the listed system requirments are surprisingly high. Despite the three games, only one set of specs is given, so I imagine they're based on T3. Older versions of Windows aren't even mentioned, it says Windows XP/Vista, and the additional requirments for DirectX 9.0b (listed twice, once in general and once for the sound card), a Pentium 1.5 GHz CPU, 256 MB ram, several gigs of space, and a list of compatible video cards (as well as a list of unsupported cards).
Anyhow, after I spotted mention of it, I went poking around to check availability and pricing. Turns out it vanished fairly quickly from a lot of stores, but you can still find copies here and there. Quite a few listed on eBay, for example. That's where I ended up getting it. I just waited and watched for a particularly inexpensive reseller and ended up getting it for 16 bucks with free shipping. Ah, cool. I just looked, and if anyone's interested, that same seller still has two copies available at that price. :) Here's the auction #: 170463379284. Take some time to search for other sellers, though, just in case. (And be really careful you don't get mixed up and end up with one of those older "collections" that doesn't have Thief Gold. Almost made that mistake myself.)
Anywho, I'm happy as a clam now. :cheeky:

Got mine on Thursday, and by accident. Went into GameStop for a LOTR game saw the Complete Thief Collection and said 'I'll have that'. Works a treat too

it's cool to know it's sold in places where it can be seen by the masses! Not just hidden away online. I wonder how many people see it and get hit with a wave of nostalgia, and have to buy it.
