So why is that last patch necessary? It just changes some textures to those of G2 - are the original ones that bad or what?
As for the speech, no idea if that's possible, the speech file is 500-ish MB. But is that even allowed?

The original artwork is just fine as far as I know.
There's more to the language than just the speech files, some of the game content is different. The performance by In Extremo is completely missing in the English version - the characters for it don't even appear in Chapter 2 as they're supposed to. You'd need more than just the speech files to get a proper German version.

Damn, really? I always wished that I could speak German. My dumbass took Japanese in High School instead. There are several games that I would kill to play in their native German.

So, I've been keeping at it. In the new zones, chapter 2, and I finally don't feel like something put there solely for the amusement of the local wildlife. Couple of questions:
1) Is there anywhere to buy more summon demon scrolls? Tried it out near the orc camp in the new area, and the fucker went Chuck Norris, killed every last orc. Just one of them would've been a tough battle for me.
2) I'm not supposed to wear the water ring armor in town. Can I wear the pirate armor without trouble?
3) Can I start using STR boosting items when the cost reaches 4LP/point without screwing myself over, or should I wait until I hit the 5lp/point level?
4) Does DEX matter at all to melee fighter?
5) Are there any huge expenses I'll need a big stack of gold for, or am I OK buying potions and scrolls when I've got cash?

1) Some of the merchants sell them sometimes.
2) I'm not sure about the pirate armour, but they'll definitely attack you on sight if you obtain and wear bandit armour.
3) It depends. I hate how they made it cost more to gain levels the higher the attribute is for NotR, instead of just making all the strength requirements insanely high instead.
4) Some mêlée weapons (the rapier-type weapons) use DEX instead of STR. It's also used for archery (Including, I think, to-hit but not extra damage with crossbows?) and it determines the difficulty of pockets you can pick. If you don't want to do any of that, you don't need it.
5) Buy any permanent stat upgrade potions you see. Remember that you can brew your own potions (if you choose to learn that) and can also heal yourself by eating plants and sleeping. You generally shouldn't need to buy too many potions.
I can't quite remember how much there is worth buying, though bear in mind that the best weapons need to be bought.

Thanks, that helps some.

1) Summon Demon scrolls are very very rare and very op and id think twice for using them on anything which isnt very very big and very rare and op too (and not a black troll)
2) Dunno either anymore, just try it. Bandit armor gets you killed everywhere
3) If you wanna truly minmax you should wait until you hit 100 str, but heck if ya really need it use one
4) DEX determines if a pick breaks or not. If you dont wanna savescum....eh just gulp any dex pot and herb you get and if you get close to running outta picks reload. Dex melee can be powerful with the right weapon but i never really tried it
5) The top class weapons are all self made tho : Paladin sword and if you go Mercenary and later Dragonslayer youll be making ore weapons which are sold nowhere. Guess a mage will have to buy his sticks :P
If you go for smithy apprentice the very first sword you can make is very good and can carry you thru most of the unguilded phase and beyond (also selling selfmade swords is a good way to make money even if you dont use a certain "exploit"). Havent played in ages but i dont remember buying weapons, most of the stuff i used was found or self made altho theres doubtless good stuff to buy too.

Eh, I've got the magic sword from the expansion now, so I'm good as far as weapons go. Thanks though.

You should learn alchemy in order to be able to prepare your own permanent DEX/STR/Health increasing potions. At some point teachers will not be able to increase your DEX/STR stats any further as they all have certain limits. That´s where the potions come in handy.
Don´t eat the king's sorrel. They are used for preparing potions with permanent stat changes.
Little hint for an extra 5 STR points: eat 25 apples in total. The same applies for eggs, I think, although I can´t remember the exact number
