How accurate are the min system requirements? 2.8ghz core 2 duo and an 8800gtx seems a bit excessive for a console game.

Oh, they're not very accurate.
You'd need a better system than that.

I have a 3.4 GHz Athlon X2 dually, 2.5 gigs RAM, and 2 factory overclocked GeForce 7900GTX's in SLI and ran it in minimum just to maintain a steady framerate.

Thanks. That'll do if I decide to buy it someday, I only played the demo via Steam though.

It hates some chips, especially early-ish dual cores like the e6x00, suggestion was they hadn't got the scaling between the 360's 3 cores and a dual core PC right. They stuck the min reqs up to exclude all of the chips that were effected. It seemed a bit random as to what was effected though, desslock had an e6700 and had problems while someone else had no problems on an e6400.

I slammed my 2 video cards into my other PC which only has a measly Athlon 3800+ X2 @ 2.0 GHz, and 2 gigs of PC 3200 RAM (DDR) and it ran fairly similarly to the other PC I listed above. I thought the extra RAM (that's DDR2 to boot) and HUGE difference in CPU speed would amount to something. Seems like it is much more dependent on the GPU than I thought.
