BSI's story is not intriguing. It's standard boilerplate comic book nonsense the likes of which even DC hasn't sucked this badly at in years. So it wins Most Disappointing Ending Despite Mediocre Game 2013.
Most disappointing ending to a generally okay game: Outlast.
Yep. I found the story itself to be pretty dull(ending aside). The setting was much more interesting because it did a lot to undermine the notion that fascism couldn't ever happen under an American-style society, in addition to the historical parallels involved.
Again, that's all setting. It's important not to confuse setting and story and I don't think most gamers can distinguish between the two.

I always suck at GOTY lists because I'm perpetually behind time, playing older games (like Dragon Age). It's cheaper to wait :p
But if I had to pick one, I'd probably go with BS:I as well, for pretty much what Aja said. No it didn't always make sense and some of the combat got tedious after a while, but man if I wasn't glued to the screen through the whole game. It almost felt like I was playing an artpiece.
Also, dethtoll, why do you always have to keep driving your arguments even when the others don't care to anymore? This is just a gaming forum, it's not a competition, you don't win a gold start if you win an argument.

It's really hilarious that you say that
after I said I was done arguing about it. Good job.
Also gotta love how someone else starts an argument and I get all the blame. That's not getting fucking old at all.

Gold Stars for everyone involved. Now let's see more of your hilarious lists, since my list so far only has Tomb Raider and Teleglitch on it.

Well, I suppose we'll be finding out if I like Metro Last Light -- stayed up late to finish 2033, so LL should be up next.

It's great. It's like Russian Half-Life 2, with better atmosphere and guns.

The Organ Trail haha that was great, I bet you and me are the only ones who have that game Henke.
Gone Home takes my pick for goty, I just wish it had been longer.

I have Organ Trail. It's fun.
Got it. Loved it.
Anyhoo... my GotY is Tomb Raider. I hated Bioshock: Infinite and gave my PS3 to my daughter when her mom and I split up, which was RIGHT when Last of Us released. I never got a chance to play it or GTA 5 (caveat).
I have spoken at great lengths about Tomb Raider, I hated the franchise, and loved the reboot. I kinda have to say Paranautical Activity is a close 2nd, too. I have a blast playing that one. #Evagift ;)

-Fez (wasn't this 2012 on consoles?)
Didn't care much for Fez. It doesn't really get much out of its rotation gimmick. The other three I enjoyed. I guess I'll give GOTY to Electronic Super Joy.
Good job Electronic Super Joy.
Yes Fez was 2012 on consoles, but 2013 on PC, and also THANK YOU for introducing me to Electronic Super Joy. Totally missed that one in the deluge of great platformers to come out this year. Just played the first few levels of it and... holy shit.
Ho-lee shit.

Yeah, it's gotta suck that people keep picking fights with you by posting opinions that you don't approve of.
