I could have sworn I posted about Akira. Either way, read Akira. 6 volumes of excellent art, great writing, fun characters, and all conveniently laid out in a Western format.

dethtoll recommends you stop referring to yourself in third person like a damn weirdo.

And I don't like that you're following me out of your precious echo chamber just to give me shit. Forget it, Goldie, I'm not going to engage with you.

Has anybody read Elephantmen? I saw a preview for it in a Walking Dead issue and I'm intrigued. One of the local shops has the 1st volume and I'm wondering if I should buy it....

the very nature of this board is fascinating.
So did anyone give a shout to The Goon yet? It's...well, I can't explain it. Imagine a gangster tough guy where everything bad in the world manages to have a focal point. And it's on this guy, in his dinky little town thing. Zombies, evil scientists, tons of evil shit.
But it's all a great fun study of the tropes we've come so comfortable with. Can't help but recommend it, and keep an eye out for the upcoming movie which should come out in our lifetime.

Last thing I read that I loved was (
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pluto_(manga)) Pluto. If you like robots, noirish detective action and heartbreak, it's a banger. I've heard some good stuff about The Goon - kind of got a Jeff Smith/Bone meets Jamie Hewlett vibe from the art (you can shout at me for calling it that if you want), which I really like.
