If you can tolerate it, the Crossed Badlands series was not too bad, or at least the first few issues I read. By "not too bad" I do not mean to insinuate that it did not have its fair share of twisted craziness, but it did not seem as intense as some of the TPBs I thumbed through at my local store.
The premise is basically a virus or some such that turns the world into something akin to a zombie apocalypse except that the virus causes people to act out their most twisted and perverted thoughts possible. The virus also causes a cross to appear on the faces of the infected, hence the name "Crossed". Society crumbles as a result, and you end up with rape, torture, cannibalism, etc. as the norm.
I quit Badlands because it didn't seem to have much creativity behind it, and the rest of the series just seems like a celebration of deprivation. I can see the shock value providing some level of entertainment for an issue or two but it would lose its appeal to me very quickly.

Finally wrapped up Habibi. Christ, that was one hell of a book. Unfortunately, I wouldn't say it's exactly a good book.
It was akin to sitting down to a virtuosic violin solo featuring melodies that don't really work together. A solo that then goes on for six hours.
But oh what virtuosity!

Yeah, basically. The webcomic is significantly toned down from the comic, and Si Spurrier is weaving together actually a pretty good narrative. He does have a short arc in Badlands, issues #19-20 which is pretty good and thoughtful compared to, well, almost all the other arcs in that series. I actually stopped at #20 because the next arc is David Lapham again and I don't think I could handle his particular brand of depravity anymore.
Crossed is genuinely an excruciating read. I recommend against nearly all of it, even for people who like the crazy violent stuff (like me) simply because it's
so depraved, unrelentingly so. But Si Spurrier is the best thing to happen to that franchise, bar none.
