I've just uploaded a version 0.94 beta of my new Graphical .3ds -> .bin Conversion Utility to <s>my website</s>
Edit: The most recent version of this tool is here:
(
http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=130085&p=1945145&viewfull=1#post1945145) 3ds2bin 2009-12-20
The program is a graphical interface for converting .3ds files into the dark engine's native .bin format, allowing you to easily import custom objects and creatures into DromEd.
It includes features for easily scaling, rotating, translating and retexturing the object, and can also attempt to automatically fix incomplete joint and vhot data.
For more information, you can find the full documentation <s>here</s> Inside the zip.
Please bear in mind that this program is still only a beta version, so it might not work perfectly, or even cause your computer to blow up <font size="-4">(in which case, you're using it at your own risk!)</font>.

I fixed a bug that would apparently cause the program to crash if there wasn't a .3ds file on the root of the drive.
Oddly enough, although I don't keep .3ds files on the root of my drive, I managed to overlook this bug...

Must be me as no one else has said anything, I can't get any of my .3ds files to open with it, still?

Mine doesn't work on WinXP unless I run it in compatibility mode with Windows 98. But that's not a big deal anyway.

It must be a format type thing, as they work perfectly when converting them manually with 3ds2e and then using BSP to convert them to bin files. They have been saved through either Milkshape 3d or Anim8or, even 3D Studio max doesnt work.
Ill upload one for you to take a look at, then PM you the link.

Well, I tried that file, and I had no trouble converting it with my program.
What error message do you get?
