This may interest fans of those multiple disc FMV adventure games of the 90's.

Samantha “Sam” Everett, the young main character of Gray Matter, is having a lonely Christmas. Writer and game designer Jane Jensen wrote her and all her fans a short story set in the universe of the upcoming adventure game. “Twas the Night Before” -so the title- is telling a story before the events of Gray Matter.
Sam has left everything behind to travel the world as a street performer. Every day she amazes passers-by on the Spanish Steps in Rome with her magic tricks. Though talented at cheering others, she herself feels lonely. She belongs to those people who have to spend Christmas without tree, candles and family.
In her short story, Jane Jensen portrays what Sam is going through on that very Christmas Eve in the Eternal City. She allows her readers to feel Sam's pride and grief. This is among the strongest points of Jensen's storytelling that will distinguish Gray Matter as well.
“Twas the Night Before” can be found in Jane Jensen's blog on (
www.graymatter-game.com).
Gray Matter will be the first new title by the famous adventure author since the release of Gabriel Knight 3. Staying true to the Jensen-style, the story interweaves gruesome incidences and supernatural events.
Neuro-biologist Dr. David Styles is one of the main characters in the game. Ever since losing his wife in a terrible car accident many years ago, he has become a recluse, leaving his English mansion Dread Hill House only on rare occasions.
One day student and street artist Samantha Everett shows up on his door step unexpectedly, at a time Styles just happens to be looking for a new assistant. Sam gets the job. Originally from America, she has been travelling Europe for the last few years, so she could really use the money. Her first assignment involves finding six volunteers for an experiment planned by Dr. Styles at Oxford University.
The experiment begins harmless enough, but soon strange things start happening. Styles is visited by his beloved, but deceased wife. Now it is up to Sam to solve the mysteries of Dread Hill House.
In Gray Matter, the player takes control of Dr. David Styles as well as Samantha Everett as they are trying to unveil secrets and find the truth.

If I remember correctly, she was also responsible for King's Quest VI, one of my favourite Sierra games. Multiple solutions to puzzles, great offbeat sense of humour... god, I loved that game.

I do hope this turns out to be good..and in English. I would really love to see the revival of the genre one of these days. Right now it just seems to be barely scrapping by with a very short game or 2 every year.
Spooky-atmosphere adventure games rock.
