My alpha impressions so far:-
* Combat is fast and fluidic from you one power to the next (unlike Titan Quest's, which is slow and methodical.) Good fun.
* The atmosphere is very grimdark and gothic. Bloody fantastic presentation.
* Great music that contributes greatly to aforementioned presentation. The Matt Ullman influence is heavy and that's a compliment.
* The graphics are awesome when maxed. Again affecting the presentation greatly.
Conclusions thus far:- I'm eager to get home and play some more. If they nail the promised open world and factions system in the final game then it'll probably be a groundbreaking addition to the ARPG sub-genre.

Okay I just looked that up. I'm sold. It's dark without being overly so, looking more like a Souls game than the traditional "90s comics" look.

Never heard of this but it looks interesting. I liked both Titan Quests, although that style of game does tend to grate after a while. The trouble being that I still end up playing it anyway.

That looks great. I have Titan Quest Immortal Throne on perma-install and have sunk a loooot of hours into it.

ARPGs really do look incredibly boring if you're not the one playing them in the video, huh?

Yep.

Heh, I actually backed their Kickstarter thingy a year ago or so, but I had pretty much forgotten about this already. :o
The gameplay video looks pretty damn good to me, even though I'm not really into ARPGs anymore. I loved Titan Quest though, and this looks very much like it but even better.
I don't think I have access to the alpha (not that I even care about it really, I prefer waiting for the final release) since I only pledged ~$20, but I should have a digital copy waiting for me at the release. I'm looking forward to it!

I didn't have cash to back it when it was being kickstarted, but I'll be getting it on Steam when it comes out. Looks exactly like Titan Quest, as far as I can tell, and that was great. If they keep a similar dual-class system I'll be all over it. The only thing I'm iffy on is how dark it is, since the setting was such a big part of why Titan Quest ruled, but whatever.

Dual-classes are in.

Welcome to the ruins of Bludshite. If you've got a dagger equipped, you can cut yourself for extra attention and experience points.
LIFE IS FUCK!
