I have an animated ground emergency light in my mission but it will not shine in a radius larger than 15. At 20 or even 50 there is no change. Even at a radius of 0 which would be infinity the radius is no larger than what it is at 15. I never heard of any lights having limits. Is there a way to fix this?

There is a de facto radius limit based on the brightness you're using. Someone, I believe LarryG, did an in-depth analysis of light falloff and inner radius a few years ago. What's your brightness set to?

My brightness is set at 50. I vaguely remember Larry's analysis but I don't remember anything about the Ground Emergency Light. I'll see if I can find it in a search. :o
Edit: I found a post by The Watcher that explained the fixed limit on animated lights. I can always use a different light object. I just wanted to make the emergency ground light animated because as a regular light the entire object lights up.

It has nothing to do with the model or anim vs static light, as I recall, just how the lightness falls off based on brightness and radius+inner radius. Try raising the brightness to 80 or 100 and see if it will reach a larger radius.

Yeah I raised it to 150 so it's good now. Thanks Russ. I just never experienced this before but that's probably because other light fixtures already have a larger light value.

I really need to get more sleep. I've noticed that the ground emergency lights are on when my mission starts but after a reload they are turned off. There are no switches linked to them and they are set to start on.
