So, if this had been an EA game, what kind of a shitstorm would the problems with multiplayer arose? Or is the singleplayer good enough so that people are not as pissed, if it had been worse?
Well, it's not like the single player requires online as well...

But in this one your main vehicles keep respawning at your cribs thoughout the game, so it's a good idea to plunk down some cash on better performance, armor, and bulletproof tires.
At this point, it looks like mine have all been impounded. So it goes.

Your character's main ride should never be impounded. If you head back to their hideout, the vehicle(s) should be parked outside.

Aaaand done! Those final missions sure were a roaring rampage of revenge! :D
After finishing the story I'm 55 hours in and at 85% total completion.
I can't be bothered writing any sort of review or write-up about the whole thing because there would just be too much to go through. Holy shit. Buy this game, people. Even at full price it's a whole lot of bang for your buck. Despite some issues I have with it I might still have to go ahead and name this one the best in the series. My new favourite game in my old favourite series.
Checking back over the past few pages, I don't think enough has been said about the meat and potatoes of the mission design yet, so gimme a moment to talk about...
The Heists
Most games that have heist missions, from Kane & Lynch to Monaco, focus pretty much exclusively on the heists themselves. GTA V does something else, something that the movie industry have been getting right for a long time now but most videogames have not: it focuses just as much - often even more - on the setup. The casing, the planning, and the acquiring of necessary equipment. Even something simple like stealing a garbagetruck, or going to the store to buy a few overalls becomes tense when it feels like you're working towards a bigger goal. By the time all the pieces are in place and you're actually heading out to do the job you'll have butterflies in your stomach. There'll be the satisfying feeling of a plan coming together, or hair-raising excitement when things go pear-shaped and you have to improvise.
Earlier GTAs have had heist missions too: the casino in SA, and the bank robbery in IV. But none of those, nor any in other games I've played have managed to do these type of missions as well as GTA V does. The 3-character switching is cool and all, but the heists are what GTA V will really be remembered for.

Bank robbery in Vice City too, complete with one of the most aggravatingly frustrating race sequences in the entire series.

Henke, without going into a massive review, can you rank it relative to the other GTA games, in the form of a series of titles separate by a >?

I'm curious about this too. My personal ranking, not counting the GTA4 episodes (which I haven't played) or any of the top-down ones, goes something like...
VCS > SA > GTA3 > LCS > GTA 4* > VC
* unfinished, but what I played was better than VC in most ways that mattered

Like I said this might just be the best one yet, but I have a hard time rating each of the entries against eachother. I've spent at least a hundred hours with each of 1, 3, VC, SA, and 4/EFLC, and I love them all dearly. GTA 2 was merely alright. GTA London and Chinatown Wars (iOS) I could not be bothered finishing. LCS and VCS I have sadly not been able to play.

Played it to the end, even though I don't like the series. I think I invested more than 100hrs in the game (91%), noticed no glitches and no technical problems whatsoever. The invironment is very detailed and beautiful, countryside is very atmospheric, switching between 3 characters is definitely a huge improvement for the gameplay (I imagine it would be boring if it was just one protaginist) etc. etc.
But still, essentially it's exactly the same old GTA (which is bad for me), it's mass but not deep. I mean it's basically a LOT of loosely linked very simple and short missions where you constantly are directed, it's the R*'s way of design. I would much prefer 20 mission f.e., but much deeper, longer, and harder, think of Mafia 1 with such large scale and budget. The story also feels like a filler here to justify the missions.

Seriously though, why play if you don't like that kind of thing?
