Re the helicopters thing, I'll re-state: for an arcade, non-sim game, the helicopters in JC2 and SR3 are perfect. Jump/crouch for up and down, left and right for banking and mouselook for yaw. Pitch ends up just being an aesthetic addition to banking. Never got why Rockstar decided to go with a more technically correct mechanism for flying, when the rest of the game is far from being that pedantic. It just jars for me, since I'm clearly no aviator. I'd prefer realistic ballistics before they bust a gut trying to make the planes and helicopters behave like the real thing. Again - main frames of reference: JC2 / SR3.

Don't know but when you get used to flying the plane it's pretty satisfying.

Well don't worry too much about it faety, IIRC there weren't any too difficult helicopter missions in V. And mostly you can get out of them simply picking a plan for a heist that does not involve helicopters, or not playing as Trevor (the crew's pilot) so much during those missions.
And of course you get the option to skip a mission if you die 3 times in the same spot.

Helicopter controls seem horrible at the beginning, but eventually you'll learn to fly decently.
The junkyard's income seems to be capped at 5,000$ a week. I crushed like 100 cars with my Rhino and all I got was 5000, while I had to get at least 15,000.

I'm hoping my recent embracing of the XBOX360 gamepad might allow me better control of the metal birds.
I may even test this by firing up my old GTA:SA save and seeing if the flying school still makes me want to do a murder.

Interestingly enough the only flight school mission in SA I had to do over and over again was the one where you drive a motorcycle.

I spent ages (and I do mean ages) completing the plane missions at the flying school. I went through so many stages of rage through to relief when I finally completed them. Then came the helicopter missions and my spirit was broken.
Henke - you've eased my mind 100% for V. Thank you :)

Tomorrow I'm going to flight school. Inspired by this thread.

Heh. I went through it too. Didn't bother trying to get gold on everything, but it's a fast and easy way of getting Mike or Franklin's Flying-skill up to 100. Trev's skill is almost 100 by default, so no point in taking him there.
