hmm, that's for vehicles according to that link. Also I heard about this as well from a different article, but in both articles I've seen now they say the post was removed. Although in the other news post I saw I don't recall it saying anything about vehicles. So anyways, we can infer from that what we will.
In any case, if it's only vehicles then the headlines are misleading and makes this disappointing. We could already switch to first person in cars before, but being able to play in first person on the streets would be great!

Wow, this is official then. First-person mode in GTA is such a good call. I played GTA IV with the FPS mod and, even though it was half broken, I couldn't see myself going back to third-person. It felt more natural to look up and see the city completely surrounding you. I'm definitely more interested in buying it now.

I wouldn't be entirely surprised if there was an Easter Egg in the game allowing it to be played in first person with the Oculus Rift. Nothing that's officially supported, because it'd be difficult if not impossible to finish sequences designed to be played in third person in first-person view, but something for the fans to play around with.

Yeah the FP mod for GTA 4 was great, hope this is true.

If you check (
http://www.reddit.com/r/Games/comments/2h1lix/google_cache_of_rockstar_webpage_reveals_gta_v/) the full list, linked in the article it does also include
"A brand new first person mode while on foot". Also, no we didn't have first person in cars before, only bumpercam and hoodcam. Except for when you're riding passenger in a taxi, that was first person.

My first thoughts were that they were future proofing it for the Rift. It'll be interesting to see what happens to a bunch of other franchises if VR actually takes off.

oh ok, thanks for the link.
About the first person in cars... well I consider [hood cam] that to be first person but if we're going to say first person is when you see from inside the car then okay.

I'm... gonna have to buy this again, won't I? :|
