So have any of you console guys been playing the 8th gen remaster? I gotta wait until January (not that it bothers me, I've had a 360 copy since release day).

I left the downloader running today while I was at work only to come home and see it having stopped because of some error.
*sigh*
16h to go...

It's worth the wait, man. I have to repost this from another forum (not my own post, but I love the experience it describes):
Quote:
I was having fun with GTA: O for sure, but last night i fell in love with it. Its the small things.
It was the first night that everyone in my "crew" was going to be on. One by one they start arriving at my apartment, so i buzz them up. We are walking around looking at the view and the last guy gets to the apartment...however....he simply cant buzz in. No idea why.
Well, long story short, one thing leads to another and he is attacking the security guard, police were called so he took off. And there we find ourselves.
3 of us sitting on my GTA couch, WATCHING A CREW MEMBER RUN FROM THE COPS ON MY TV. IN REAL TIME. Another crew member getting drunk and stumbling around the room.
I was just blown away. I had almost the whole team sitting on the couch, watching another team member desperately run from the police. He gets picked up by a few pubbies who were out to lend a hand, the news reel is going....the whole train flies by the apartment building and we all jumped off the couch to actually see them on the streets below.
I just cannot believe how awesome it was. And nothing happened it was just some friends sittings on a virtual couch cheering over vent while watching another friend run from the virtual cops. For like....30 minutes.

That is bonkers.

Eyes on stalks from that quote. Not sure if my machine will handle it though :(

faetal, Eurogamer has a piece up on how scalable the game is. From what I've heard, it's quite surprising how well it runs on fairly low-spec machines.

I hope so, I loved GTAIV but it took me 2 pc upgrades to play it at maximum settings at 60fps. If they did a really good job at porting this game then I might take it sooner rather than later.

It seems like it's possible to max out the settings and get 60 fps, but you need a monster of a machine to pull that off.

The only thing that's pissing me off at the moment is the logout bug, where the game whitescreens, crashes, and then the launcher reports that your account is in use elsewhere.
Apparently, it is just a bug and no-one else is logging in to your account, but when it happens, I find I lose all enthusiasm to immediately relaunch the game.
