Aiight, my download was 75% this morning, so I should be ready to roll tonight. Has anyone messed with the stealth aspects of the game? I thought it'd be fun to at least make an attempt to play the game like a real thief. I realize in a game like GTA that's going to be extremely difficult, but it might be fun to try.

My experience is that you shouldn't expect much beyond the absolute minimum in terms of stealth options. It might be more feasible in online mode against real people, but even then the game isn't designed around any kind of stealth.
What's your Rockstar Social Club handle? Make sure to friend me - my online name is the same as my TTLG handle. I should find some time over the weekend to play MP.

As far as I've seen in open play, stealth doesn't seem to work at all, at least not up to rank 12.
You appear on other people's radars no matter what. It's a different situation in Deathmatch however, where you only show up on someone's radar if you can be seen. Not sure how the stealth stat affects that, but I've not had much opportunity to increase it so far.
Got griefed by a couple of high level guys last night while looking for a Sanchez. I picked one of them off a couple of times after he came after me, but he called his buddy in and they then proceeded to spawn camp me until I left the instance, at which point they placed a bounty on my head. Stealth had no effect in this situation whatsoever.
Luckily, I then found a random civvy driving a Sanchez on the road after ages of checking between known spawn points.
I can't really complain about the griefing, as the game seems to be geared towards it and positively encourages it, but it's certainly disheartening.
I'd also forgotten the Penny Arcade Greater Internet Fuckwad theory, as I've avoided AAA multiplayer titles for a long time. But GTA seems to be populated by the dregs of humanity. I'd fooled myself into thinking that as a civilised society, we were past using "Gay" or "Faggot" as insults, but nope, these seem to be peppered throughout every sentence uttered online, along with other offensive terms. I get the feeling that because it's GTA V and quite vulgar to start with, your average internet denizen thinks it gives them carte blanche to descend into fuckwittery.
I'm still playing mind you, and would like to join up with you guys if you're online at the same time as me

I think I may just have rejected rather than accepted your request (and that of a guy called muralae - any idea who he is?) by accident; my brain obviouly frazzled out at work. I've sent you a friend request and will add you to the crew as soon as you've accepted it. Sorry about the inconvenience due to Thirithian stupidity.

You all need to step it up with the join requests!
Shouldn't be too hard to figure out which one is me.

Done and done.

It seems like it's possible to max out the settings and get 60 fps, but you need a monster of a machine to pull that off.
The "Advanced Graphical Settings" options are there for future-proofing the game. I.e. something that's rare in the modern era of multi-platform development:- prioritising the lowest common denominator platform and then failing to take advantage of the more powerful hardware of the better platforms.

How's the game running for everyone? I'm getting some graphical errors - textures not loading (usually when driving around), 1-5 second freezes, stuff flickering on and off, etc. My machine exceeds the "Recommended" requirements, so I don't think it's a horsepower issue (i7, Radeon 7970 3 GB, 16 GB RAM for the record). Updating my drivers helped a little, but not completely. The PC version has only been out for 10 days, so I'm sure fixes are on the way, just wondered how everyone else is faring. Even though I've read about some memory leak issues, the game world seems to actually run better the longer I stay in-game.

I think I might tweak a few things down a bit.
I'm currently running everything as high as I can, and it's perfectly playable most of the time, but I do get the occasional slowdown at sunset in the wilderness.
I'm running the game off of SSD using a four year old i7 with 16GB RAM and a 970GTX.
