While I don't have the game on Steam, my name's the same in GTA as it is there, Mungrul. Feel free to send me a friend request.

Let me regale you with the tale of when Thirith, Malf and I stole a jet from a bunch of gangsters. We had to redo this mission a few times because we kept attacking on-foot and getting killed, due to there not being much cover on the beach. Eventually a plan was formed for me to steal a semi-truck and keep the gangsters on their toes, while Malf and Thirith rained sniper fire on them from afar.

There was a whole second half to this mission as well where The Ground Team cleared out a landing strip to the east while I circled above, waiting for the clear signal to land.
If the video above focuses mainly on myself and not my teammates it's not purely out of narcissism, the free camera in the Video Editor doesn't let you stray too far away from the player character.

I can't get over how stylish we lot look...
By the way, I should be down for 1-2 hours on Saturday, starting around 4pm UK time. Time to finish that heist!

Let's just set a hard time.

I haven't been following V at all due to the disastrous IV port and Rockstar's shifty practices, but I am getting a bit of nostalgia towards GTA lately. Not in the mood to read all of the stuff here, so I'll just ask: how's the PC port?

It's pretty great. Lots of clearly labelled performance options with a handy bar showing graphics memory allocation and seamless switching between control methods. In addition, support for lots of resolutions, including 16:10 ones, which lazier developers seem intent on ignoring.
Pretty much everything can be re-bound however you like, although some controls aren't clearly labelled, such as the contextual speech option.
And mouse & keyboard definitely gives you more optionsl than the controller, sometimes to the game's detriment. For example, I live in an "interesting" part of London which gets a lot of sirens as background noise. Therefore I like to use push-to-talk; real-world sirens mixing with in-game sirens would be intensely annoying for anyone I play with. However, there don't appear to be enough buttons on the standard 360 pad to support a push-to-talk one, and as I like to use the controller while driving, it makes me periodically mute.
Actually, I might nip in now and see if I can't work around this.
And yeah, I've had the occasional crash (finally sorted out my "You have been signed in at another location" one), but no more than I remember having on the PS3 version.

Thanks! I might be getting it during the summer break, right now I'm to swamped with college projects to play a huge game like this (except The Witcher 3 :P.)

I'm getting quite a few crashes in Online mode, not every session, but often. Besides that it looks and runs great tho. I did have stutters around sundown at first, but disabling Vsync seems to have fixed that.

Being that it's several years later, did they ever work the kinks out of the PC version of GTA IV? I never played it, but I'm enjoying GTA5 so much that I thought I might go back and give it a shot after I'm done.
Btw, GTA5 runs perfectly for me, haven't had a crash yet, and gameplay is silky smooth. Had some stuttering early on, but I found out later on that it was a bad hard drive.
