I've put in a request to join the crew - wrong1

Yay! Good to hear that the new machine is running.
I'll definitely be around next Saturday afternoon, usual time (4-6pm UK time). Malf, henke, Jeshibu, are you guys around as well? Perhaps we can introduce faetal to the joys of getting in and out of cars and getting shot through concrete roofs. :joke: Also, now that I know how to start the last heist, we can also look into that one; from what I've seen, heard and read, it's a doozy.

Played a bit yesterday, runs well, seems fun. My driving is very rusty - I may keep my gamepad on my my lap to see if it's any easier just switching to M&KB for the on foot stuff. But yeah, looking forward to a bit of social play if time permits (my weekends can either be very relaxed or very hectic depending on my wife's inclination to move about - if the latter, we tend to go out and do stuff to make the most of it, if the former, she takes regular naps and I can catch up on some serious gaming).

To be honest, while M&KB may seem like a good idea, and the controls have been well thought out this time for a GTA game, it still controls better in all circumstances when using a pad. Yes, even shooting thanks to controllers having the auto-aim, snap-to functionality.
Oh yeah, and I'll be around on Saturday :)

Yeah, I also use gamepad and only grab the mouse for turret sections.

Maybe I'll give the controller a bit of time then, so how it feels. I'm generally not very experienced with them, only really came on board with Dark Souls, so my muscle memory generally resists a bit unless the alternative is awful.

It's a good game to practice with, I'd say - and definitely practice a bit with story mode, since it's got a fairly good difficulty curve. Similarly, I'd recommend practicing GTA Online with the jobs that are available early on; for a starter character the more advanced jobs are pretty deadly, not least because you get more hit points as you level up and you get access to better and more body armor. Even at levels 60+ I find that I sometimes go through 3-4 sets of armor in a single job. It adds a certain frisson when I realise I didn't stock up on armor as we head for the final part of a job.

Also, I haven't watched all of this yet (it looks like the kind of thing that is cool for a couple of minutes but then gets boring), but I like the idea:

And I now imagine David Attenborough narrating a session of GTA Online in his calm, measured, hushed voice...

Since yesterday's session didn't fully work out, how about next Saturday? I'm not 100% certain yet that I'll be around, but I'll try to be at the usual time (4-6pm UK time).
Malf on 21/9/2015 at 08:22
Yeah, I'll be there. Hope Jesh's PC stops buggering him about!
