Absolutely. Jesh, keeping my fingers crossed that the replacement PSU does the trick.
Also, I'm very much looking forward to the last heist, which sounds like it's the GTA Online version of Heat. I propose that we all buy dayglo Vespas and chug to that bank in style!

So what do I need to do in order to be one of the cool kids then? I've been dicking about in online, but it just seems to be loads of races and deathmatch type stuff, which doesn't really interest me. How do I do the more interesting sounding online job stuff?
Additionally, bear with me if I'm slow in getting around to anything - I'm working a 14 hour day and a 16 hour day per week lately (as well as 8-10 hour days the rest of the week) and coming in at weekends too, and am shattered the rest of the time, so my gaming is a bit sporadic lately.

No problem, faetal. For one thing, we're very much not cool; most of the time our biggest enemy is Getting Into Cars. :p
My main tips would be these:
* Familiarise yourself with the game, controls and enemy behaviour by playing the story missions.
* Whenever you want to get some money and experience for your online character, launch a private session while in story mode; that way you're not surrounded by the Los Santos equivalent of
Mad Max' insane psycho hordes.
* To level up early in the game, seek out Gang Attacks (the red circles that appear on the map when you're driving around) or launch a Survival game (menu: Online-->Jobs-->Survival), which basically throws wave after wave of enemies at you. The latter you can do with others, and you don't have much to lose by inviting randoms along.
* Give the Quick Jobs function on your mobile a try. You might end up with idiots, but on balance I've had more fun than frustration jumping onto other people's jobs.
* Gerald should offer you some beginners' jobs pretty quickly (at level 5, I think); if not, prompt him by calling him on your mobile. Simeon should also have some easy early missions.
* From your menu, go to Online-->Jobs-->Missions (IIRC) and select the simple ones to play them. See if anyone joins in a reasonable time; if not, don't worry, because you can also play the early missions yourself. If people join, you've got nothing to lose, because at worst they're crap at the game, but at best they help you win. My own experiences in small jobs with randoms isn't too bad.
* Here's a complete list of online jobs, including some tips: (

Depending on when you're around and feel like some GTA Online, if I'm around and have some time I'm happy to join you for a job or two outside the regular sessions. Don't feel under any obligation to make the regularish sessions, though! It's one of the things that I enjoy most about the TTLG coop we've been doing: no formality.

Cool. Them's great tips - I'll crack on a bit with the story missions as and when I get some time.
My wife is heavily pregnant lately, so I have to also make sure she's tended to, so I apologise again if that makes my availability erratic, but I tend to play games to unwind, so in terms of hours per week, I still get a respectable amount done, just never sure when.
Thirith on 22/9/2015 at 10:37
No worries - IMO the needs of significant others, whether heavily pregnant or not, generally come before the coop needs of fellow TTLGers. Anyway, henke, Malf, Jeshibu and me, we're still doing the heists, and those are for exactly four people; regular jobs have minimal and maximal numbers of players, but with them it doesn't matter if you're one person more or less, and they don't auto-fail as soon as a player drops out.

Great game last Saturday - and definitely some of the most anarchic fun I've had playing GTA. I still regret though that after Jesh shot me in the head as I was careening towards him and Malf? henke? down that forest slope the car I was in didn't crush the two of them. Ah well, can't have it all.
I'm not sure I'll be around this coming Saturday (3 Oct), but I'll try to be, as I'll definitely be away the Saturday after (10 Oct). Anyone else planning to do some gentle transcendental meditation and pacifist activism in Los Santos?

Was very good fun. I didn't feel like I contributed a great deal, but I had a lot of fun.
Not sure if anyone was recording the session or if such a thing is even possible, But I'd love to see footage of the cement truck mission where I charged the site full of guys shooting on a scooter. I think I managed to get a few headshots before I was killed.
Thirith on 29/9/2015 at 10:40
Yup, you can record and edit sessions. I haven't done so myself, but henke definitely has produced some cool videos of our early endeavours. And no worries about your contributions; my actual shooting was pretty off on Saturday, but it's all about having fun rather than getting that perfect K/D ratio. Once you've levelled up some more, you'll also have access to more and better weapons.
I'm generally more into the higher-level coop missions (I love coop with the TTLG crew, and the higher-level missions tend to be a bit more complex than the early, "go there, shoot people" missions), but there are some Versus and Adversary missions that are brilliant insane fun. I can very much recommend the Top Gun missions (I think we did one on Saturday, but there are others that are fighter jets vs. motorbikes), Hasta La Vista (bikes vs. trucks, racing down the storm drains) and Siege Mentality. If you play any GTA Online in between the TTLG sessions, those tend to be pretty okay with randoms as well.

Yeah you can record by holding down up(or down?) on the dpad and then you get a prompt to start recording by pressing A. Then you can go into the Rockstar Editor (if you're in single player) and edit the footage and/or upload to youtube.

Cool. Well I think my short term objectives are:
1) Learn how to fly the planes correctly, possibly switch to the 360 pad if it's easier
2) Level up by doing some jobs with randoms
3) Record some footage
