I won't be around to get slaughtered repeatedly by rabid cops attempt that final bank robbery this coming Saturday, but should we give it another try on Halloween, of all days? Fits with our masks, I'd say.
Followed, perhaps, by teaching faetal some survival tricks by sending him on an errant down Los Santos Storm Drain on a bike while we gambol after him in big friggin' trailer trucks?

Haha, that sounds worth a go. I need to level up so I can wear better armour really.
I won't be around this Saturday either as I have a wedding to go to. Between now and Halloween, I'll put some hours in online with other people's jobs.
It can be a little awkward though just answering the job requests on your phone. I got put into a setup job with 3 other people all above level 50 and the chat was just filled with "Hey level 10, please don't die - I'm so scared" and the like.

My suggestion would be to have a look at the spreadsheet of available jobs that I posted earlier in the thread, and launch lower-level jobs yourself, looking for one or two people to join you. That way you don't get thrown into the most difficult jobs (which often are murder with the lower health and weaker armour you have access to, especially if you're not playing with team that's a well-oiled machine like we are :joke:), you don't feel like you're holding back a group of people who are much higher level, but you still get money and experience. Also, there's less of a risk of you ending up with a bunch of cheaters that basically God Mode through a job just for the reward, which is boring as hell.
I don't think I ever bothered much with the in-game phone when it comes to jobs, because you never know what you end up with - unless you're answering a specific request. I mainly use the menu, which has Jobs under the Online tab.

Cool, them's good tips. The server I was in after I finished with you guys on Saturday got hacked. Every few seconds, there'd be just a huge bunch of explosions focussed on me without doing damage. I was driving a car, noticed that I basically just appeared out of the car, which carried on without me driving it and then I exploded a bunch of times. Very odd.

Yeah, free play is tricky. It can be okay, or it can be anarchy - which can still be fun, if you're lucky, but definitely not if you want to do something specific and keep getting killed or griefed. Also, from what I've heard, there are also more malicious hacks, though I haven't run into that one of those yet.
If you play with randoms that are nice, fun and don't cheat, just add them to your friends, which makes it easier to then start a freeplay session of your own (which, annoyingly, can only be done from single player mode), and then you can add others. You may not end up with dozens of co-players, but you will definitely have a more fun session without lots of cheating going on.

We should all get lowriders and have a lowrider dance competition. Thirith can do the beatboxing.

Man, that new Slasher mode is fun and scary. :D Had a good time playing it with Thirith and Jesh last night, and then again later in the evening with random people. When all your fellow victims have died and you're cowering behind a desk while a bloodthirsty killer stalks the hallways it's pretty tense. And when he caught sight of me and I ended up running through half the level before coming to a stop in a dead end at the bottom of some stairs, I could only lean against the wall and listen for the sound of his footsteps, hoping he'd lost me somewhere along the way. Proper horror movie vibes.

Yeah, I was pretty impressed by their Halloween extras. Here's hoping they won't drop the game modes after yesterday, because they're fun and a cool change from regular GTA Online.

I might be making Chernarus a safer place for democracy with Jeshibu tomorrow, but depending on how that goes (and how buggy Arma 2 decides to be) I/we might join anyone who's cruising Los Santos (not *that* kind of cruising... probably) a bit later than at the usual time.

I don't think I'll be available come CRIMETIME tomorrow.
