There's no point arguing with Aja on controls/movement anyway. Aja on Bioshock:
Except in regards to Bioshock on the Xbox Aja's perception is entirely correct.
Subjective Effect: It's not about having Gran Turismo controls in GTA it's about feeling like you're controlling something of substance. I haven't controlled a plane in GTA, but after watching that video Henke posted, it doesn't look like much fun. It's not that the plane doesn't move realistically, it's that it moves like a camera in a level editor. The plane seems detached from the world. For some people, like me and Aja, it's hard to derive pleasure from doing some crazy stunt when the vehicle feels so fake. I'm not saying that it's bad to get pleasure out of it, I'm saying that I can't.

Total Overdose does that kind of, except you're an undercover cop.
*Chuckles*True, though I'd still prefer a Mexican star for a future GTA game (a more gritty and "realistic" game, that is without so many annoying stereotypes ;)).
Ah, great times.

Making a mexican lead would probably either require them to set the game in latin america, or return to a similar environment as San Andreas.
edit: Or Vice City, but that's not mexican.

So has anyone played GTA IV yet?
henke on 25/4/2008 at 16:06
Dude, the game doesn't come out till the 29th.
In related news the new Mindless Self Indulgence album is also coming out the 29th.
Also in related news, on the 29th I will be coming. Twice.
Here's Tom with the weather.

Oh. Someone's husband at work was going to get it today. Guess they were mistaken.

Some UK shops have leaked it early, apparently. It's how gameplay and intro footage got online.
Also the 360 version is up on the internets.

I'm still surprised they haven't made a GTA with a Mexican gangster starring as the main player :)
You ever played Just Cause? It's on all the last-gen and next-gen systems as well as PC. It is probably just what you're looking for (being a surprisingly good GTA-type game w/an Hispanic main chaacter). A quarter of a million acres to explore. It is actually in the Guinness book for the largest game area.
edit:GTA IV is most DEFINITELY out. My best friend brought it home last night and we played it for hours.

Jesus, if I didn't just pick up Call of Duty (on sale, of course), I would probably be getting this in the next week or so. I had mostly ignored the press coverage, but reading the IGN review paints a very compelling picture of the game.
