I am going through the game again to get save files at the beginning of every level with full loots so I can play any mission I want with the full amount of loot from the last mission to buy supplies with.I am currently up (Song of The Caverns) were I've been faced with a tough spot where in the hall outside of the ticket office the patrolling guard is stuck in the wall, but he can still find me and attack me but I can not knock him out and he's stuck in a corner facing a fairly well lit area with tile floor.Btw what key do you guys use for creeping in this since I use up arrow for run forward and I am not using a key for walk forward and shift is speed toggle.Any suggestion on what I can use so walking quietly on tile without using all my moss arrows is so annoying in thief gold. In thief 2 I have no problem only in this one.How did the guy get stuck in the wall and how,if I can fix it.

I can't help you with keys as I use wasd. C is my crouch key and is used for sneaking with slight nudges on w to go forward.
As for the guard try reloading a previous save. If that don't work then you may have to restart the mission unless Jtr7 or one of the other regulars has a different suggestion. Hope this helps!:thumb::)

I'll just wait a little longer for some more suggestions before I do anything drastic, could any of the packs be causing this or just a freak glitch,I never encountered this issue and my first play through and I encounter it once before in this only, that it was a burrick in The Haunted Cathedral, but that time the glitch rendered the burrick harmless.Well its time to play the waiting game. That probably do as far as creeping is concerned, unless I here otherwise, though thanks for the help so far.

I made a save right when I got to the area where he was stuck and then tried to take out the guards in the office but when I failed that I loaded that save game up again and for some reason he was no longer stuck and was patrolling at a point where I could hide and take care of him,so in some mysterious way the problem fixed itself.

Something had to send the guard AI off its patrol. AIs can be alerted by player action, or a player-started chain reaction, without the player knowing about it, and send the AIs off their path even a little. Only a restart will undo it, if it's not a corruption. Crouch, and use the strafe keys to slide past, pressing Garrett into the walls, doors, columns, etc., to control the speed and make up for the lack of creep key.
