Some dude asked me to come quest with him. Felt sorry for him since he didn't have any friends, so I bought the game. This better be good Ducky. ;)

Feel free to add me to your friends list, although I don't play much these days.
My primary character is Beowulf Wyrmslayer, and my secondary is Miles Away Girl.

What's it like these days? The gameplay mostly, the community secondary..
Is the GotY version complete? (meaning all of the expansions).

There's currently no package that combines all Guild Wars titles.
GotY is the Prophecies campaign (the original game) plus some extras.
Guild Wars Trilogy is Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall.
Guild Wars Platinum is Prophecies and Eye of the North.

Cheers for that, Digi.

Strange, I was just thinking about resurrecting this thread a few days ago... Yeah, I'm still playing GW quite regularly as well, and I'm willing to help any fellow TTLGers with quests and stuff. Just let me know.
The game hasn't really changed much for the last two and a half years, not after the release of the Eye of the North expansion. There have of course been some small updates, but they've mostly been just bug fixes and skill balance updates. I'd love to have some new playable content, but at the moment ArenaNet are only concentrating on Guild Wars 2 (It already looks pretty exciting and I believe it should be released some time next year). Apparently they're planning to add some new stuff for GW1 as well, something that ties up the storyline with the sequel, but I don't know what exactly it will be.
The community is still pretty active, but a lot of people have already done pretty much everything possible in the game, so they hang out in the bigger towns and outposts or play the elite missions, whereas the smaller areas are totally dead. The American districts seem to be a lot busier than the others, so if you want some company, you might want to play on those. I mostly play PvE, so I don't know how active the PvP community is.
However, if you prefer not to play on your own, it's important to find yourself an active and like-minded guild. Even though the player base in Guild Wars seems more mature and friendly than in the few other online games that I've played, you still need a bit of luck to find a bunch of friendly people who want to play with you.

I still play Guild Wars pretty regularly when I'm not engaged in any particularly enthralling single-player experience, which is to say....most of the time these days.
I still think the gameplay is second-to-none as far as mmos go. The skill balancing they've done for pvp has sort of killed some of the diversity and fun in that area of the game for me, but I don't pvp much anyway so I could have no clue what I'm talking about.
It's nice to see some Guild Wars love! I thought I was alone... I have characters in all campaigns so anyone that wants someone to play with feel free to message me for one of my character names and maybe I'll see you on there.

I almost forgot...I'm Silvana Hoktai (my female warrior-elementalist character).
:)
I usually try to play once, or twice, depending on the mood/workload a week, starting around 9 pm Mexico City time, for reference.
BWAH!!!
Also, my Steam ID is Wuigi69 should you want to add me there too :D
