What, because it got remade, like JSR or Skies of Arcadia? Or do you mean arcades?
Dreamcast was fucking brilliant/ahead-of-it`s-time (yawn), and it sank for few reasons, including PS2 juggernaut and Sega`s stupid attitude.
Because they got remade for some other, better platform like PS2. Dreamcast was most certainly not ahead of its time: it had a stupid controller, the Sonic games were shit-terrible (the only reason anyone bought a Dreamcast was for Sonic and look how that turned out) and in general it was a glittering example of why Sega is run by morons.

Also the PC is the greatest console of all time.

I loved the Dreamcast controller. It looked weird but was extremely comfortable.

Shenmue 1 never left Dreamcast, I would've loved to have played that. Too bad they only ported over Shenmue 2 to Xbox and bundled it with a shit feature-length film compilation of Shen1's cutscenes on DVD.

Speaking of security problems, did you guys hear about Dropbox's mistake over the weekend? Basically, for about four hours, anyone could log into anyone else's account with ANY password they wanted.
Now I ask you, how does someone make a mistake like that? I mean I could see some guy running a server out of his home doing that, but a large company? They got very lucky that the hackers didn't discover the problem while it was going on. I'll bet wherever the hackers are, they're kicking themselves right now too. (

Also, the Dreamcast was awesome. It was the last console not to succumb to the typical mainstream gaming market, which has destroyed games like Deus Ex, Thief, and now Duke Nukem. I was blown away by the graphics in Shenmue. Even the characters' hair flowed naturally like the guy at the hotdog stand. Also, Sonic Adventure 2 looked significantly better than SA1, and even ran at double the FPS! Shame about the gameplay though.

Yes, I did. Thankfully the only thing in my account was my Direct2Drive password, and if they really want my copy of Star Trek Online they're welcome to it. (I have two.)

Didn't Shenmue basically introduce quick time events, commonly known as cancer of modern gaming?

I don't get it. They could be doing some good work, like hacking into Monsanto, or the Church of Scientology. Instead they're fucking everyone over

When hooligans stab an old lady and demolish a bus stop do you feel surprised when they didn't adopt a kitten and donate to charity instead?
Don't try searching for rhyme or reason, you won't find any.
