Apparently some real hackers got annoyed with them and started working. Or so the news say.

All the hacking was moronic to begin with, but these groups crossed the line when they began to hack law enforcement and military websites - and then release the personal information of people employed with those agencies. It's one thing to release information that just makes CEO faces go red, it's another when it can (and probably will) lead to people being killed.
No one's going to hunt down Joe Schmoe #38482 because they saw his name in a list of tons of mass-released credit card information, but when angry political activists and criminals get the addresses of officers who worked the cases of getting their friends deported or helped put them in prison or whatever else, havoc will ensue.
These guys also pissed off pretty much everyone because no one was safe. If they just hacked the government, we'd probably have laughed, but everyone ended up the victim. Hacker group Anonymous has thrived because it pulls an angle that some people can get behind and understand, but Lulz was just shooting at anyone.

They crossed the line when they started attacking games and game websites. They talk nonsense about "stomping on oppressors" for "the thrill of entertainment", while at the same time attacking the very forms of entertainment which are the backbone of the Internet.
Hacking things to make political statements? Okay, I guess.
Hacking things to annoy as many people as possible? Get lost and good riddance.

Well, once they went after stuff like Minecraft or even Eve it was pretty obvious they had no agenda besides "just because." At least they're honest about it, huh...

Problem is, "they" are impossible to identify. Anyone can claim credit - or blame someone - and we will be none the wiser, so it`s totally pointless. Only good for media obsessed with the "new" media.

I had that thought too Yakoob, but this article just confirmed it is all.
