So is this a good or a bad thing?

I just hope Blizzard is never affected by Activisions BS...hopefully they can break free from them if Activcrap ever tries anything.

Bungie remains an independent company and will continue to own their intellectual property. Additional terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
That sorts out a lot of concerns when dealing with Activision.

As far as I know, IW started out the same way.

Infinity Ward was a new studio that needed investment to survive. Activision had bought the entire studio within like 2-3 years.
Bungie is one the most successful studios (financial wise) in existence; to the point where MS thought it was in their better interests to spin off Bungie back into an independent entity, rather than risk a mass exodus of talent - like what's happening with IW at the moment.
Bungie are definitely in a position to make any demands that they like. Bro, they will be largely safe from Activision's meddling, if not untouchable altogether.
