Greetings!
I've been watching you guys for a while now, and you seem ok.
Well, I've been playing Thief since about the TDP DEMO, so, I've been around the block a few times. I own T1, G, and T2. I only have the demo for DS, and After reading about the cradle, ohh man! I want that game!
I am currently hepped up on FM's after I finally figured out how darkloader works. T1 and G for some reasons are giving me some problems when it comes to swimming, but I digress.
You can also see, I am quite versed in spelling and grammar.
Anyway,
TAFFERS RULE!

Hail!
Stay in here if you want your illusions of the people here unsullied. You should have registered sooner if you have been around for this long.
Take care and download the Minimalist Age.

Ah, but I have only learned about TTLG only months before. I never thought of looking up Thief online. Then it hit me like a wet fish: Large groups of people actually like this game.
I'd say to somebody, 'hey, you like thief?'
and they'd say, 'never heard of it'
and blah blah, so I could only assusme the game wasn't that popular.
certainly, I had another thing coming.

I know, truly it's incredible how many people know this game. I discovered this website through playing System Shock 2, but never bothered to play Thief until my friend Matt started describing how amazing the gameplay is, and boom - it's my favorite game of all time. Not that System Shock 2 doesn't have its own appeal. :P

Welcome, ganac! It's always nice to hear that we've gathered yet another Taffer into our fold.
P.S. Darth was serious when he suggested you stay in the Thief forums. ComChat will eat you alive. I speak from unfortunate experience. The people in here are the absolute best!

Thanks, taffers.
What is ComChat?
dlw6 on 31/12/2005 at 04:57
Community Chat is where people go who find themselves thinking along the following lines:
* I'm on a game-related web forum, but I don't want to talk about games
* the world needs more of my vast knowlege and wisdom
* I could shout really loud so more people would hear me, but they would think I was nuts
* instead, I'll go to ComChat and demonstrate my wisdom via clever use of emoticons
Just kidding, sort of.

You forgot one, dlw6; they like to use flamethrowers on newbies in there. A lot.

Not really mind you. Flamethrowers are for people (generally
internet newbies) too bothered to spell correctly and ask kindly. They are often also directed to attention whore newbies trying to impose their shitty rules to the boards before having even tried to understand how things work here.
A newbie should understand CommChat before posting in it, but that should the same thing for any forum anyway.
Not contributing anything is also often a cause for flaming, but that is even applied to old-timers.

I've asked this question before, but never got an answer: contributing what? Plz, tx.
P.S. I was being facetious, kind of. I enjoy CC & find it infinitely amusing, mostly (when I'm not getting burnt to a crisp ;) ).
I have no rules to try to impose on anybody, except, well, maybe, put the toilet seat down when you're done, please.
