It's a quote from Jurassic Park.

Was jurassic park really that badly researched? holy shit, you're right. Thats terrible. And its supposed to be the paleontologist talking as well.
Sorry Jedi, misplaced correction.

Out of interest though, surely saying "Dinosaurs exist" is at least a stretch of the definition of a dinosaur?

Nah, ever since cladistic thinking replaced linnaeism in the mid-20th century, any descendants of a group are included within that group. Hence whales are mammals, snakes are squamates, birds are dinosaurs etc. The heirarchy goes dinosaurs -> saurischians -> theropods -> several theropod subtypes, the names of which get argued about a lot -> birds. The rather ugly and non-scientific term 'non-avian dinosaur' was coined to refer to dinosaurs not including birds. In the case of birds particularly, the differences are pretty trivial - there's a much greater difference between a dolphin and the typical mammal than there is between a bird and a typical non-avian theropod dinosaur.

Jedi, I'd have been happy to contribute... but I'd probably do a better job at playing an American man than a British woman (the Samuel Stanton character, genderswapped) :erm:
If you add any female characters, give me a holler ;)
