Gameinformer is also delaying their print for a day (and their cover, which has usually showcased to be revealed games before their reveal), because there's supermegaextra secret that will be uncovered. It says it will be uncovered today 4.00pm, but I don't know the time zone. It's HL3 fo'sho.
It is also going to be free-to-play with crossplay functions with Dota2 and it's store mechanics, where you can your favourite dota character's weapons for Gordon.
This was added to the article just now "[UPDATE: I have made a second call to Gamescom. I was informed that Valve had previously requested that Half-Life 3 to be listed there, but apparently, "just a few minutes ago" Valve requested that HL3 be removed from that list.]"

If that is true (Valve asking it to be on then off) then it's for real. I guess they've lost the element of surprise they were going for.

So it will be like another 5-10 hour HL2 episode/game - an FPS with high production value, realistic physics (oh look I can put that plank over that barrel and then something happens), dumb AI and disgusting alien slime monsters.. and ppl get so hyped up about that? No wonder I have no friends LOL
