very easy to install. it's just a folder marked "zombie", with some wavs in it. you put it under c:\...\half-life\valve\sound\

Where can I find it? Sounds good, half-life 2 didn't do it for me but the sound was amazing.

Dethtoll summed up the best ones - Heart of Evil is stupid in some places though. The only other ones I can think of are Wanted! (if you can find that nowadays), and (

USS Darkstar has not been mentioned yet, I thought that one was excellent. I second They Hunger, Sweet Half-Life and Azure Sheep. I also remember Absolute Redemption to be pretty good as well.

i forgot about darkstar, superb stuff from neil manke, predating they hunger (and i imagine some of you would like it better.)
oh, three other mods (well, 4.) most of them aren't done yet but nearly there:
(
http://mods.moddb.com/8562/half-life-decay/) decay (bringing the PS2 version of HL's brief expansion to PC, due before halloween.)
(
http://mods.moddb.com/4961/paranoia/) paranoia (russian-made horror mod, due december 3rd, looks fantastic. i'm supposed to edit the english subtitles at some point for clarity/grammar.)
(
http://mods.moddb.com/6145/afraid-of-monsters/) afraid of monsters (horror themed mod, and while it has its problems it's overall a decent mod, now being remade into (
http://mods.moddb.com/7579/afraid-of-monsters-dc/) afraid of monsters director's cut, also due before halloween.)

The zombie sounds are actually voice files in reverse of people screaming things like "oh my god please help me!"
It's kind of creepy to listen to.
june gloom on 9/10/2007 at 06:22
it totally is. though, for me, the creepiest EVER is the zombines. the weird electronic quality to it, and the way the mechanical part of them still seems to be trying to issue commands and reports.
catbarf on 9/10/2007 at 10:21
They don't 'report', they're mindless monsters, but I agree that the voice is pretty creepy.
june gloom on 9/10/2007 at 13:39
i'm saying that the mechanical part of them, though it in all likelihood is malfunctioning, is still trying to, futilely, to do something about the zombie rampage.
of course, that's speculation (which is pretty much the norm when it comes to HL2's plot) but that's how i see it, anyway.
