I quite enjoyed that, although the acting was a bit arse at times..

Yeah I like both of them. Atmosphere is captured so well.
Scots Taffer on 8/4/2009 at 01:25
Both of them are pretty excellent atmosphere pieces done on budgets not even slightly comparable to Hollywood and yet achieve more than many blockbusters set out to do.

Well, let the ARGing commence, if that's your thing.

Both of those movies are excellent as far as machinema goes really. Watch some of the Star Wars fan movies if you want to see some really awful ones. Though having said that, theres some excellent ones of those out there as well.

Crap? Comeon.
Sorry, for me it was too much like "zomg, we're making HL2-inspired fan movie, it's gunna be so awesum, yo" - without much thought put into it. It was too long, and the script seems to be nonexistent, like they thought they'll make a "cool" movie just by playing hide and seek and running around with cameras.
Escape from City 17 at least has some quality art direction ;) And the action isn't that bad, the only problem that it ends before it really begins :cheeky:
Anyway, I've seen a work of a guy who beats those two film crews singlehandedly, as he's doing the whole thing by himself:

His friends are only acting in this movie. I hope he's going to release it eventually, this buddy has a great talent.

Is there any footage of that in there yet? (couldn't see any at a glance). The acting and such could easily be as bad as the other ones.

Machinima are done entirely in game engine.

Footage or no, that's some damn good CG work. Doubly so considering it's just one guy doing all the hard work.
