Today is Halloween, and we had 3 contestants, but 1 posted entry had to withdraw, leaving only 2 contest entries. edited:Nov.16th,2013
Contest has started: (

Missions can be submitted to (
http://thiefmissions.com/) http://thiefmissions.com/, and al_b will set up the scoring program for three categories:Read Below.
The Poll rules the contest. No limitations except as agreed upon. Themed for Halloween. If nothing else there could be some fms released on Halloween. Deadline for submissions would be logically on Hallow's eve, which would vary from Place/Time. In other words, a Halloween fm submission on and available to play on Halloween. TTLG forum time. Please keep the ideas coming !
The Poll is here: (

I have created a Poll to get an idea of what everyone would want in a contest. Pretty basic, but please vote!
Your opinion matters more than you know. If anyone would like something else added to the poll, feel free.
The Poll is closed.
No Restrictions allowed according to the Poll as ruled.
Explanation of ai restriction:

I've had some wicked ideas for rules and themes like; Only allowed to use X amounts of AI and contest over who's AI usage is most innovative in terms of keeping players on edge.
This could open up to do experimental AI's and see how well they work, almost sounds like a technical contest that is if this doen't sound tooo silly, myself I wouldn't be interested in contests with no rules, but hope I gave some interesting ideas to polish on because on this matter it doesn't matter if you got a story or a sized level when its all about the AI, this could allowed if someones busy on their own hobby projects, to make a demo level to demonstrate, that is if they even have any forms of unusual and effective AIs to demonstrate on halloween.

Not related to the Halloween Contest, but originally posted in my Halloween Contest thread.
Antimatter_16 came up with a plan for the 48 hour contest which you can read here:

This Halloween contest is current, and all submissions are welcomed!
Entrys will have no rules except the due date of October 31st,2013, and a Halloween Theme. They will be released on Hallow's Eve!
No limit for Size:
You can submit any tiny, small, med, or large mission of your liking. The theme will be Halloween as the Poll dictates.Oh, I feel like such a mean tyrant! :laff:
Start Date:Anytime
Contest is on! Today! Another exception to most contests, is that current projects, in other words, missions that have been in progress, but never released to the public are also welcomed to enter this contest. The only strict rule, which by the majority has ruled in the poll, is that the fm submission must be submitted to Epithumia, at Thiefmissions.com in time for it's release on Hallow's Eve. Now, I feel like a mean ,nasty Tyrant ! :ebil:
I will manage this contest, and all entries will be submitted to: (
Thiefmissions.com) Thiefmissions.com I have contacted Epithumia, and will arrange it with his permission.
I will collect the links, and post them in a Contest Release Thread to keep entrants anonymous.
I have asked al_b to assist with a voting system. All fan mission submissions will receive votes based on Visual,Story, and Gameplay. I don't feel like the use of objects would mean anything. The most important gift to the community would be some Halloween fms.
Come on, not much time left, and we have 5 entrants now,but need lots more for some fun on Halloween!
Outline of the Voting Poll Results as of July 16th,2013: The Poll is closed. The poll began on June 30th,2013
A.Rules to be followed:Yes,and the only rules are the submission due date, and a Halloween Theme/Story.
B.You don't want any size Restriction: Any size fm will be allowed !
C.You want a Halloween Theme/Story
D.You don't want ai restriction:That is there is no limit to the number,or quality of ai, including no limits to scripting. Use any ai you want.
E.You want a strict due date for submission: If the deadline has to be met (See the Poll results for strict due date.) It should be on time for everyone to enjoy on Hallow's Eve.
Outline for requirements:The voting in the Poll rules.
1. No size restriction
2. Enter now as time is running out to make the October 31st 2013 deadline.
A.If you enter now you may start building now, or you can use any fan mission never released to the public. Reload an OM if you like, or use somebody elses fan mission, with their permission, and change it so it is different than the released version.
3. A Halloween theme or story is required, or anything that would correlate with Halloween.
4. Use all of the custom material you want, there are no limits.
There are no rules to dictate when an entrant starts the building process. Read above! This is not a contest of limits of time, or restrictions. It is about the tradition of Halloween, and fun.
NewDark not required:but, I would highly recommend NewDark V1.21 for T1/Tg and T2, so that you can play all of the latest versions out there.
Everyone is encouraged to enter: Thief1/Gold, Thief2, Thief3. Beginners come forward and release your first fan mission. New Dark is not required in this contest because some authors may not want to convert their work to it. New Dark will not have any issues playing T1 v133/TGv1.37 or T2 v1.18, so anything goes here.
But, by chance you want NewDark for Thief2: V.1.21 (

Follow the instructions in the release and modder's notes, and make backups as suggested.
For T1/Thief Gold get T1Fix v1.21: (

Anonymous Entries
All entrants have the option of remaining anonymous. You can pm to join, and I will just use a number tally, such as :We have 2 contestants, 3, 4, 5, ect.
Prize:
For the rewards: I will ask the Moderators to give the 1st place winner a TTLG title. The gift of giving is also a part of Halloween, just as a trick or treater goes out to accept candy from strangers giving it.

Yes. I think it can safely be said that all future contest winners will receive a contest winner title, should they want one.
The length of the contest can be voted on publicy, allowing a lot of playing time for all entries.
Post Contest with results of the the winners:
Three people will be chosen to tally up the scores, and agree on the 1st place winner, 2nd place winner, and 3rd place winner. The anonymous remarks concerning each entry will be made public at the time the announcement of the Winners takes place.
Submission Due Date:Al_B and Epithumia, have been contacted regarding the voting poll for December, and Thiefmissions to accept submissions by Oct.31st,2013 or Hallow's eve.
