Yeah, you might want to ask them. I was still typing when you posted so I didn't see your response I'm afraid.

Any EA console to PC port is a frightful experience.

I do recommend Call Of Cthulhu DCotE and I'm not deep in to Lovecraftian stuff. It's scary, hard and has some excellent moments, especially in the first half.
I played it patched and I don't remember any technical issues, though IIRC there's one puzzle in the latter part of the game that doesn't work if you've got the wrong video card driver combination.
Bought Alone in the Dark Collectors Edition on the extreme cheap (a retailer needed his shelve space). Started playing it, it wasn't bad, controls were a bit off. But it didn't take much to be distracted by other titles. I've yet to return to it.

Gunsmoke, your new graphics card should be able to run Dead Space beautifully. One of the surprise gems of 2008, IMO.
I don't go out of my way to play horror games during October (I don't have any gaming traditions, nor care enough to develop any), but I am currently working my through Resident Evil 5 and 2.

Your entirely sweeping generalisations and level of ignorance on the subject are outstanding.

I know my Lovecraft. Thank you very much.
I was saying that in general, not directing drops of molten lava towards you.
Also, nice stack. :cheeky:

I don't recommend DCoTE. It's heavy-handed with the lovecraftian theme, unfun and buggy as hell.
God forbid a Lovecraft game be Lovecraftian. That said it's not that fun anyway.
Anyway, gunny, my horror game playlist this year consists mostly of Silent Hill 1, 2 and 3, but I'm also considering a run of Fatal Frame because I need to give it a 2nd chance, and if Out of Hell for UT2K4 actually comes out on Halloween like CRC promised then I'll play that too.
Dead Space is great, though I'm reserving that for December as part of my December Sci-Horror tradition which started with Doom 64 way back when before graduating to Alien vs Predator, Doom 3, Alien vs Predator 2, Doom 64 again, and now Dead Space.

Need to finish Afraid of Monsters and the Penumbra trilogy anyway, so "October" is as good an excuse as any. Might give Thief 3 a go after that, since I've only played it once, and I've totally forgotten everything about The Cradle.
After that... Stalker maybe? I've never played it with any of the megamods, so I might give Oblivion Lost or AMK a try.

I so want Silent Hill 1 but nooooo it's only for NA PSN and not on the Europe PSN Sony you are pissing money away its here waiting for you to get your act together.
I have Penumbra 1 and 2 and tbh I've already been freaked out too much so I need to give it a rest.

Been playing through Dead Space: Extraction and thinking of going through the original again.
Besides some horror-based Thief 2 FMs, the big one for me though will be Resident Evil Remake for the Gamecube.
