They are.

I never encountered any noticeable respawn in Crysis. What I did notice was that squads in nearby camps or villages would pile into trucks and come reinforce a battle. IMO this kind of actually punished stealth, or at least it led to me taking a "scorched earth" approach and wiping everybody out. ...Which worked, suggesting that respawning wasn't occurring. So far ITT we've got CCCToad experiencing a completely diffferent reality (er, make-believe-reality) from everybody else, which is actually pretty typical.
I can't help wondering if CCCToad is getting his games mixed up entirely. Far Cry 2, for example, has some pretty bad respawning (but only token health regen). I never played Crysis 2.

Never Played Far Cry 2, just the original.
And yes, Crysis does have enemies who appear out of thin air. I can't watch this video because my internet here is below dialup speeds, but the title implies spawning. (

There's also other players around the web who have encountered spawns out of thin air. Its also something that I've noticed operates differently depending on which level you are in. In some(like the first one) the call for help summons enemies from nearby encampments. In others(just about any assault on a large base) I've seen a dozen red blips appear inside the camp while I was positioned in a tower with a clear view of all possible infiltration routes. At that point I'd wiped out the enemies in the camp, but the last one got off a distress flare so I was anticipating reinforcements to arrive from the North or East (the south side was a cliff). Instead I got shot up by bad guys spawning from inside comm trailers.
And no, I didn't "streak" through each camp. I'd always clear from building to building, and from room to room within each building.

It also implies
a bug.

Doesn't change the point that you have to bob up and down behind cover instead of being able to fire around it. Its just shitty level design to compensate.
I'm gonna blow your mind here buddy...
...ready?

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v474/Koobazaur/lean_is_pop.jpgpopping up and down IS vertical leaning. it works fundamentally the same.
also I've always been loling hard at people bitching about no lean functionality - pro tip: get to edge of wall, strafe right/left and then instantly back into cover - BAM YOU HAVE LEANING HOLY FUCK MAGIC!

Again, this is correct - but also irrelevant. It`s a videogame, goddamit, - therefore not real life - and one that tries to promote openendedness (?). Its hard to pull off, which is why we have more Singularity-type corridor yawnfests. But it mostly succeeds, which is great. Also, it is possible to clear a level - if you manage to kill reinforcements without them firing up another flare.
Yesterday I was inside that creepy factory in Stalkers Dark Valley and had 2 enemies pop in right in front of me totally outta thin air inside a room - a shitty bug you might say and thats correct - yet I didnt stop playing otherwise a stellar game, just got over it, especially it was the 1st time it happened in some 30 hours of playing...

The thing about telling people to get over it is you're saying that to a bunch of assholes who continue to post on a forum for a site dedicated to a company that ceased to exist a decade ago. People can't get over things here, whether it be game flaws or themselves.

oh BULL FUCKING SHIT. I've heard that leaning argument going on forever and IT IS THE SAME THING. The only difference is that with "leaning" when you let the "strafe" key out it strafes you back into cover automatically. That's it.
In MP you do have a lower visible area when you lean out so it makes a difference there I will grant, but in SP it hardly matters and the enemy can spot you either way.
