IGN gave it a 9.0, and their reader review average is a 6.6. I find that amusing.
Same thing on metacritic, very low reader-scores. That's probably mostly becuase of the price. I'm pretty sure most reviewers ignore that and focus on the quality of the game.

Incidentally, Microsoft actually *boosted* the company store price for this game alone. Way back in the day Xbox games were $10 when they came out, and it's slowly crawled to $25. Now, Microsoft is selling this for $30, and (while still a great deal compared to $60) I find it somewhat ironic that this is the title they used to launch the new price point.

Ya know, I liked the first game. I beat it a few times on both PC and Xbox. Did some coop cuz the game's coop mode is what more games should have. But certainly none of that laughable competitive console multiplayer lolz.
Halo 2, never beat that. It wasn't really worse than the original, but I had been there done that.
Halo 3, waiting until I can get myself a near-free 360 and it.
I'm not sure why this game has a "following" but hey whatever makes their day over there in console world. :)

I threw in my copies of Halo: CE and Halo: 2 yesterday to directly compare them. Halo literally destroys Halo 2 on the single player side of things. I had much more fun with CE.

Damn straight. Halo 2 has that been there done that but then it was fun doing.

I used to play the PC version of Halo online quite a lot. It was pretty fun, aside from performance issues (like no lag compensation/poor netcode).
I still remember killing a player on the other team and then having one of my teammates take the enemy's dropped rocket launcher... so I spanked my teammate and took it back. :) Hilarious! Then there was the time I got pushed through the ground by a teammate's warthog (no friendly fire). That was also hilarious.

I must come out of my hiding place that, I've never heard such a horribly generic story before (Almost as generic as Halo m I rite?), that I actually lost the desire to go onto a hopeless rant about the once great glory days I saw in TTLG's elitism which then became (also horrendously boring) elitist douche-baggery, and so instead I will just make a more diagonal reference to it while wallowing in self-reference.
Anyway. I actually did get Halo ODST (Yea, yea. I know) and was always of the opinion that Halo 1 was pretty sweet (But, albeit, it was my first FPS as I recall, and was a bigger fan of Co-op) 2 was bad, 3 was okay, but I felt myself able to put on the rose-tinted glasses of the past when I got to try ODST as I wandered New Mombasa's wreckage, and this was actually the first time I've seen someone successfully make an open-world zone in an FPS, fantastically revolutionary? Not quite, some more of the same with some neat tweaks (Super Intendent, VISR, all that) that made it interesting and fed off some nostalgia.

Into. It's into, you elitist douche bag. And your post is so elliptical (and not as diagonal) that it's practically a testicle.
So in summary? ++would read again, but needs to be less balls and more tits, stat! And where are the stories?
