Halo 2 is one of the better games in the series narrative wise, but one of the worst in terms of gameplay and mission design. The earlier levels where you play as the Arbiter are especially fucking dire.
Really? I played through Halo 2 sometime last December, and I had the most fun as the Arbiter. It definitely helps that he's far less boring than Master Chief as a character.

I've met bricks more interesting than Master Chief.

Sure wish he had a flashlight. Oh, and I wish the controls list for Halo 2 PC listed flashlight/cloak. It doesn't.

I didn't miss the flashlight, but I did miss the cloak. :p
Didn't believe you about the control list at first -- wow, you're right. What a stupid oversight.

So since ODST came with a second multiplayer disc that contains all the Halo 3+DLC MP maps I decided to check it out and I have gotten a bit hooked. Put in quite a few hours over the past few days. I was kicking a lot of ass when I started out but now I've ranked up a bit, start getting grouped with more skilled players and now I'm the one getting my ass kicked a lot. I'm starting to realize how shit I am at aiming with gamepad. I do better at the modes that don't require precise aiming, like Swords, and Oddball. But, perhaps even better than the MP itself is the goddamn REPLAY EDITOR, which stores your 25 latest games. Pausing the action and flying around the gameworld lets you take some fantastic screenshots which are then uploaded to your Bungie account so you can access them through Bungie.net.
