Each Compass walks the Elements forth, paints to the Eye colors of heartsmaw Chaos, for follow the Eye back to the mansie world.
Binds the Eyevisions, gathers the sights the glories, open fulls the Eye to See forth the world, bloodcalled, compasspainted, chaosfed, paintings on the world the image is showed.
The Eye itself does nothing more than
see into existence what the wielder wishes at the end of the ritual - in this case, by channelling primal forces through it, by channelling Chaos through it, one can will that into existence.
To me, this doesn't suggest that the Eye is a Maw artifact - it seems to be something of a higher order.
Why the eye versus any other glyph-key? It's established that it's the keystone to the glyph, the most powerful of the Sentients. And why do you think the Mystic's heart is one of the Sentients?

Well not really. In RTHC the Eye said something like this: "Comes a man to
RESCUE me...poor man...the keepers have sealed the door(...)"
That would mean that the Eye didn't really want to stay in the Cathidral. It probaly wanted to be set free to wreak havoc instead or do other Eyeish stuff.
BLOP?!!?

Close, but no cigar.
The Keepers sealing off a Cathedral and trapping an Eye inside has nothing to do with the origin of The Haunts.
:)
Also - When I wrote "protect", I meant guard. Protect gives the wrong impression.

The origin of Haunts most probably has something to do with an "evil" force and not just by the desecration of Hammerite graves because Haunts cast away their hammers and use swords against their fellows (and everyone else).
The fact that they dont use their "correct" weapon which is the main part of their religion suggests somethings out of place . This could be due to the Eye but then the occurance of haunts in other places where the Eye hasnt been makes things more complicated.

Things become clear again when you remember that any Haunt appearances outside of the original Dark Project are cameos at best.

It is very important to remember that Haunts only apply to Hammers. There are no Noble Haunts or Pagan Haunts. Only Hammer Haunts.

Well there are some non-Hammerite haunts....Two of them in the mansion in the mission TLC and on of them "down in the bonehoard".....
@Solabusca,,,
I´m not sure about the mystic´s heart...I thought it was one of the sentients....
So you think all the sentient artefacts had been created by the keepers? But why then does the kurshok-crown have that much kurshok-design elements? IMO the crown also seems to be much older than the Keepers themselves....
About the eye: What do you mean by "see into existence..." Sounds interesting. It seems that I didnt get what the eye is exactly....
What do you think what the main purpose and function of the eye is? PLS descripe "see into existence".....

The Burrick's Heart is one of the sentients. It's already been suggested (and debunked) that the Mystic's Heart and the Burrick's Heart are one and the same.
The Keepers have taken items of signifigance and imbued them with power and sentience. One such item was the Kurshok Crown. Another was the Jacknall's Paw (in all likelihood the Kurshok king's hand... chew on that one for a moment). Perhaps they chose items of great import that they could count on others to guard - that's extrapolation, mind you.
We also know that of them all, the Eye is the most powerful and most 'awake', and is the keystone for the glyph.
If you reread the ritual, the Trickster uses many different kinds of magic, all attempting to channel his power and force the Eye to
See the world he wishes it to - thus bringing it into reality.

So you mean the eye is some sort of miracle which "sees" but also let things happen (by seeing them)...
But from which culture does it originally came from? What was the ORIGINAL purpose before the Trickster (and the hammers) tried to use it??.....

Dreadlord!
As fantastic a game as it was, The Dark Project didn't give absolute details on every aspect of the game, including a full history of The Eye. That is part of the fun. Let thy imagination fill in the blanks.
