Is it worth trying to sink a basket where the hoop and basketball is located. I get the feeling that this might be like playing pool in that other FM, where significant goodies are the reward. I tried for 15 mins, but don't want to waste any more time on it if there's no benefit.

I don't think I've ever sunken a basket on Hammerhead, but I doubt there's anything special there.. If there is, it's nothing you need to complete the mission... The loot requirement on Hammerhead isn't that tough...

If you look at the wall the hoop is on, to the left about halfway there is an opening that you can see some barrels and a dockyard?. I thought perhaps the wall may be a large sliding door, triggered by making a basket.
Another question very close by to the area we're talking about ; as you progress forward you come to a small prison with a few mouthy prisoners. I couldn't get into this building, though it looks like I should. I tried roping up, but I couldn't quite make it no matter how much I tried. I guess I'm just not a "roper" type person, witness the problems I had on The Great Tree. But I couldn't see an access from the rooftops down into the prison anyway, so I just left it alone.

Yeah I just ignored the prison too. I couldn't see an obvious way in and actually thought it was probably there more to have the prisoners give you away if you tried to ghost past the guard.

Yeah...sounds about right.
I have finished this level, but there are still unanswered questions :
1. As you walk across the bridge leading to Dock2, on your left above the flowing water is a ledge containing power equipment (generators?). It looks like you can access this small section from the rooftops via planks. If you sneak a peak at these generators from a window around the corner, you will see a gas arrow on the ground, so this area MUST be accessable. Damned if I could get to it.
2. There is a store with a storekeep who greets you...and thats it!! Lots of things to steal, plus a locked door which I could never open. Is this just eye candy or is there some way to get the goodies.
3. There are some inaccessable gated areas with people walking around, some carrying crates. I always thought I'd find my way to that section, but never did. I ended up only 300 short of max loot, so I'm wondering if I missed an entranceway somewhere.

1. Yes you can get that gas arrow. If you stop on the bridge to Dock #2, and look over, you'll see that there is one small section of board on the far left hand side of those boards that is a little farther forward. You can place a rope arrow that will hang down into the water, then swim over and climb up the rope and up onto the top. Drop down the back to get the gas arrow.
2. There is a key for this on or close to a dead body in the harbour, but it's very hard to see. Go across the bridge to Dock 2 and jump in the water over there. Swim over to the very far side and search the bottom.
3. I could never get into those spots, either. :)

wow! You ARE good. Thanks. I'll go back to that level and look for the key and grab the gas arrow, even though both are inconsequential now.

I got the gas arrow now. Plus I found the key. It was on the drowned guy at the bottom of Dock 2 harbour. How did you ever find that guy. You have to have your nose plastered to the bottom in order to see him. And even if you accidently stumble upon him, how do you know his key opens that private door in the shop? I guess just trial and error :)

It's been too long since I've played this mission, so I can't remember all the small details, but I know there is a note or something somewhere that gives you a pretty good clue about where to look for that key and what it opens. :)

This mission surprised me, it is a case of don't judge the book by its cover :p
