Ever since i started playing Thief, i couldn't ignore the parallels between the hammerites and the catholics i just think its an entertaining subject and i just wanted to hear your thoughts.

Yes it is pretty strange... I am not a cathloc (sp?) But my grandmother is so I have been to church with her... I felt like an undead was going to pop out at me so I checked to see if they had holy water!! <IMG SRC="wot.gif" border="0"> <IMG SRC="shake.gif" border="0"> They have those windows and it looks old... really cool actually!

well, my goal for this topic was to find out if that was what they had in mind when the hammerites were created, just looking at some of the tennets and the fact that karras wanted to flatten all the natural structures of the earth. Catholic teaching is that the mountains will crumble filling in the valleys and all paths will be made straight.

The reason for the gremlins is that this topic has been
done to death on these boards. I'm not judging you, I'm simply tired of hearing this silly debate. Any similiarities you (or anyone else) sees between the Hammerites and the Catholics (or whichever group you choose) is completely within your own mind.
Thief is just a game. There's no basis of reality in it. The Hammers aren't Catholics any more than the Mechanists are Protestants. Or Jews. Or Muslims.
I see now by your name that you're a new member, so you probably weren't aware that this topic has been done to death. Ok, my mistake. But if you don't understand something, ask. Don't just flame, it's childish.

Most, of the textures used for Hammerite temples and stuff (other than the actual hammer pictures and the trickster stuff) came from actual Catholic cathedrals, such as Notre Dame and stuff
