Hammerite Order vs. the Catholic Church - by Dead Eye

Aww, Spuds, Dont be so damned literal. Sides, Makroto was a new member, how was he supposed to know about it? Not to mention he may want some individual answers to his questions.
an there are plenty of parallel's in the Thief/Real world. the stars in the sky in Thief were made to be the same ones in the sky on the 39'th parallel. im no psycho, its just a game, but its one modeled off of ours. the beliefs and ideas we've had in history or just in imagination in this one made that one, creating parallels. how else could we have gotten ideas for it? Where could any ideas come from, if not from the real world. because of that fact, all stories must have some similarity to this one. I dont care if its ab some aliens movies (where every one of them has some basic similarity to humans, in either mental or physical state, jus ab every alien in any story has a motive, or some sort of an eye, or a brain, and can comprehend its surroundings) to Thief where there are established religions that are hand in hand with the state(obviously based on; or is a throwback to the days before a seperation of church and state), so obviously there is a debatable similarity bettweeen the real and Thief world, and so making it a good subject.
Sorry, i was Listenin to D-12 as i was writin. Might come off a lil nuts or somethin.

You're right. I think Makroto and I understand each other a little better now.

He also spoke of the mountains crumbling into the valleys thus perfecting the earth.
even though i paraphrased, it still seems alike, and i mean, all religions have some sort of apocolispe theory, but the hammerite/mechanist theory just seemed so close to that of the catholics.

Excellent, thanks for pulling that out. When I mentioned being Catholic earlier I
didn't mean to imply that I had knowledge of the Catholic faith that others, Catholics and non-Catholics alike, don't have. Hell, I barely remember what I read in the bible so long ago. All ancient history to me now.
If there is evidence of the catholic-hammerite similiarity (and I
love good satire, btw), as you show above, I am most interested in reading it. Sorry if it seemed I was slamming the door on this topic.

I was looking through the Catholic bible we have at the church and made a discovery.. The book "Macabees" literally means 'hammer'. :cheeky: Just something more to contemplate.

Now that the evil, bored taffer dredged this thread up from the depths, Grundy could update his links. I'm betting all of those threads are in the Archive.

I had quite a double take, I was looking through this thread and I saw a Grundbegriff post, then I looked at the date of the post...

I knew this was an old thread when I saw Komag's full handle and a post from Grundy. :cheeky:
