Has anyone remade thief 1 and 2 using the new graphics and engine from thief deadly shadows and the hi res textures from john p
I understand that this question may have been asked before but just wondering i think it is a good idea though possibly a long process i would just love to play the original game with the new graphics that would be excellent

My guess is that is is more likely for The Dark Mod than T3.

Thief 1 and 2 simply could not be reasonably remade in the Thief 3 engine. They would need to be split into multiple maps, areas that required swimming would need to be redesigned, unless the swimming hack that was cooked up were used ...l, whatever you could do with them...they wouldn't be remotely close to the original levels. It would be far easier to remake the T3 levels in T2.

However, (
www.thedarkmod.com) matches the T1 and T2 features, and throws in some more, and the graphical theme also matches the style, but looks better, also map editing in Doom 3 is way easier than T3, so yeah, this would be a project for some other people after the DarkMod is released. Hopefully whoever does it won't get shut down for copyright infringement.

I would prefer it being the other way around, T3 remade in T2. I've heard T3 was a great game but a lot of people out there cannot play it at a decent framerate and the horrible sloth-like motions just ruin the atmosphere for me. I've tried to have fun with TDS but it's just too frustrating for its own good.

It's not all that bad. And plus it's not just "the missions", it's the whole game, the shops, the city hubs, etc. are part of the experience.
But talking about just plot and missions specifically, yes, that would be pretty cool. Someone making the T3 missions and plot in DromEd, just for the hell of it, to see how creative they could be in the translation.

You could do the shops 'live' within the level, instead of going to a silly shop screen for the city sections. Hell, you could no doubt put all the city sections together.

Didn't someone remake Baffords mansion in T3? With no level-split even.
After adding John P's textures, and turning up all the whistles, T3 is beautiful. It'd be nice to see some of the T1/2 level's in T3, but I think that we should wait for TDM first.
