The only thing I don't like about the idea is the whole controlling bit. How are you going to preform awesome knockout moves if you miss five times due to frantic scribbles? How hard would it be to slash a sword while backing up?

If you miss I guess you just swing again like in Thief. As for using a sword well... I think thats the one thing about the old Thief games that didn't make sense. I guess TDS got it right by giving you a dagger. But backing up and slashing a sword wouldn't be that difficult I guess since moving forward/backward would not require the touch screen (it'd be more for aiming/swinging). You could always assign the left shoulder button as the aim/fire toggle.

Blackjacking with the wiimote would be fairly hilarious.
ROTFL, imagine any of us playing it, we would be stood infront of the TV crouching slightly then... bosh! hahahaha :cheeky: :joke:

Oddly the wiimote is a bluetooth device that you can use for your PC... I bet it wouldn't be out of the question for someone programming darkmod to actually put this kind of control into the game.

I know that Dreamcast was pretty open to haxxoring, maybe it could run Thief? Also original Xbox could be hacked pretty good, with Linux and everything, maybe Thief could possibly be forced to work there somehow.
It's a non-issue to me because if there is a campaign or mission pack that I really want to enjoy I can already play it on my HDTV with a 360 controller :) I thoroughly enjoyed T2X this way, and Seven Sisters
Thief 2 was cancelled for the dreamcast, someone must probably owns the beta in a private GD-ROM collection :erm:

True, but I was thinking of those members who either wouldn't want to go through all the trouble of hooking their PC up to their TV, or that don't have the appropriate connectivity that would allow such a connection in the first place.
Also, about the original Xbox Linux hack, that would be nice, but I think it would be a bit easier (or at least at a similar difficulty level) to write a shell in XNA, wrap it up for X360 compatibility et cetera, load it onto a flash drive, and plug the little bugger into your X360 and install/play it from there. Keep in mind I don't know the
exact particulars of how this would work... But I do know it is indeed possible, and I understand the basic principles of how it would work.
Then again, you could port Thief to damn near anything if you have the right resources, save for really old consoles like the NES or Sega Genesis. :cheeky:
