I´m now playing Thief Gold the first time (and I love it). I have just finished the Thieves guild and now I´m in "The sword" But in the guild some rather strange glitches occurred. For instance in a room near the place where the safe key is located, there were rather strange noises. A immense amount of footsteps could be heard, just after entering the room. After I left the room again, it stopped. After I reloaded the footsteps could not be heard again. Strangely the guards outside the room didn´t go into alarm mode.
Also at one point you could frob a secret passage open, that was connecting two rooms (it was in a fireplace) Nothing happened, the door just went too the side and I continued my taffing. After time I saw the door of the passage floating by.
Did you, while playing thief or another game, have strange glitches like that? I was kinda nervous because I didn´t know if the mission would change gears and become haunted or the supernatural strike, so it was a kinda unnerving experience. Till the end I was unsure if there wasn´t a big (paranormal) surprise waiting for me.

Thief: The Dark Project is also known for its many delightful engine exploits. Due to the complicated nature of the real time physics in the game, these "glitches" are often amusing, and yes, highly exploitable. There is a wealth of knowledge floating around these halls on the various relics and curios. One of my fave glitches is the (

The glitch about frobbing a secret passage in a fireplace and then seeing that tile (door) floating by was fixed a long time ago in TFix by voodoo47.

I´m playing without without TFix, I got a collection of all 3 games and 1 and 2 were optimized to work on modern rigs. But still it was kinda cool to see that glitch, even though it broke the immersion.
