I think the game would have been 10 times scarier if flashbombs had a percentage of failing. Imagine being hunted by a haunt, and you toss your last flashbomb, and it's a dud. I'd lose it. :wot:

I found the older haunts scarier than the new ones only because they moved so fast.
TDS haunts didn't scare me as much as I thought they would, seeing as there are enough flashbombs to deal with them and I was too busy following a bossy ghost to pay much attention to them.
Actually, I probably hated those haunts because of the first time my sisters and I played the Haunted Cathedral level. Those things come out of nowhere...
TDS Zombies were a tad creepier, as they seemed to still have part of their brains.
Puppets, though, I hated those. Geh, my least favorite...
What was the practical use of an oil flask in TDS anyway? I mean, sending passerby off the docks is fun and all, but...

You could launch a fire arrow at the oil puddle and make a fire slick. But I agree, I found the haunts in TDS much scarier, mainly because of that god-awful spine tingling scream they made when they died. Plus the whole empty eye sockets with a faint trail of blood running down from them thing.

And what is the point of that? It said something along the lines of blocking off dorways, but really, is that a sneaky thing to do?

The truth is that I don't find the Haunts appearance in TDP and TMA disturbing, but their audio effects. Whenever I hear them screaming to join them and running behind me with those chains I can't help but sweat.

My favorite use of oil flasks is as undead death traps. If you toss a vial of Holy Water into oil slicks then undead will collapse in it and be killed. Just my use for it though, generally it was just a comic addition.

Shows how memorable they were, I can't even recall the Haunts in deadly shadows. :erm: That or my memory is failing me. Give me the other haunts any day. Can someone post a screen shot of them?

I wans't sugesting that as something you should do, I was just saying it's the only other use there is.

:D I know. I wasn't trying to sound mean or anything. I was just wondering how useful that was during play. It's a lot of fun, though...
Oh yeah, that's right! Oil can kill the hag!

The face and the hood are the only thing about their look that gives them away, other than sound. No tattered clothes, exposed ribcages, or sword, or little red hammers on their boots.
This is a T3Ed shot, and so the silly and unarmed floating pose:
