Shows how memorable they were, I can't even recall the Haunts in deadly shadows. :erm: That or my memory is failing me. Give me the other haunts any day. Can someone post a screen shot of them?
The difference is that TDP forced you more to actually face them. I get the idea more and more that those rejecting TDS from the beginning never explored and found all of its neat little corners.
By the way, adding the puppet frame skip actually makes them a little freaky. We'd need an FM.

Naw. That's a side-effect of frustration and disappointment.

I thought the haunts in TDS were okay, but something was missing from them. It wasn't their appearance or the sounds they made necessarily, but mainly the way they moved, which was no different than you're average human model. The devs really missed out on a great opportunity to make the haunts in TDS creepy as hell.
The original haunts, their movements were the scariest thing to me...especially their speed. I remember being pretty freaked out during my first encounter with one...the chain rattling and the fact that I couldn't escape easily was very unnerving.
Still, the most disappointing enemy to me in TDS were the Keeper Enforcers...god what a letdown.

No kidding ...
I've found the betrayer here...

The undead in general were terrible in TDS. I went through the Abysmal Gale with a full supply of flashbombs and found it to be a breeze. The biggest problem was that they were no threat. Same goes for the area below the hammer church.

The only time the zombies scared me was when I first met them and decided to try giving them the Thief 1 treatment i.e running past them and ignoring that they exist. How surprised I was when I saw that they could run also! Other than that it was a breeze since I was ghosting anyways.

You know, I noticed that, and that's kind of sad seeing how reluctant I am to go into undead areas.
Following Laural (SP? DX) I found that I didn't have enough time to think about the undead and ended giving light commentary on the subject while spamming flash grenades.
That last chamber, I just kept running around the zombies.
The models might have something to do with it, but I think there was also a lack of atmospher. Like The Cradel, that had atmosphere.
