Nox, can you answer any of the following?
"Should I play Final Fantasy VII even though it's not as new?"
"Should I play Zelda Ocarania of Time, even though it's not as new?"
"Should I watch the original Star Wars trilogy, even though the special effects aren't nearly as good as movies today?"
If you can, you likely already have the answer to your original question. Just because a game is newer, doesn't mean it has the same amount of "heart" as some of it's predecessors.

I tried playing FFVII, I just couldn't take it though. I can live with dated, but daaaaaannnggg! :tsktsk: This coming from a guy who just spent a full week playing a game of Empire Deluxe (the 1993 "vga" version) :thumb:

The slightly more primitive graphics in Thief I actually help the atmosphere of the game.You won't care about it after a bit.

You should look up the qhimm forums. They do for FF7 what we do here for thief. Upgraded models, better resolution patches, character replacement mods, hardcore difficulty mods, game fixes... They're even working on a voice-over of the game script =)
