This is one especially for those of you who like me have been playing computer/video games ever since we directed our mates to lug two gigantic slabs of rock up and down in order to bounce a boulder back and forth on the playing field. Which was also made of rock.
Are there any of the big, epic, epochal games that you've simply never played? Not even for a minute or two? There are quite a few of those games that didn't grab me after half an hour, so I deleted them and played something else instead (e.g. Quake III Arena, Max Payne or Myst), and some that I only played a decade or so after they came out (e.g. Ultima IV)...
... but I have yet to play even a minute of Counterstrike. It just never happened. At the time I played barely any multiplayer games, and in the years since I've been drawn to other MP titles.
So, what are the medium-defining games that you've simply never played?

I think I'd need some kind of list of the "big games", so that I'd know what I'm supposed to have played or not.
The first thing that comes to mind is Planescape Torment.
I've also never played any MMORPGs.

I see what you mean, but I don't want to end up with a discussion of "That's not one of the big games!" "Of course it is!" "Nuh huh!" I'm perfectly okay with whatever you or anyone else considers those major medium definers.

I always get a good laugh when I look at the top games on Steam. I've never played:
DOTA
Team Fortress
Counter Strike
Rocket League
I've also never played any of the Civ games. Or Assassin's Creeds.

Never played any of the Metroid games.
Perhaps not too surprising since I never owned a Nintendo console, but I still managed to get a fair few hours into both Mario and Zelda titles regardless - playing at friends' or using emulators, etc.

Pretty much everything Nintendo exclusive, including all of the Zelda series (except a bit of Wind Waker on an emulator)
Pretty much all RPGs before Knights of the Old Republic (yeah, Planescape Torment is one that came to mind right away for me too)
Sports games, except racing and some XTREME ones.
MMOs and MOBAs (also still don't know what MOBA stands for)
Any RTS after Warcraft 3
Man, it's hard to narrow this down to anything less than genres.
How about this, out of the top 30 games on (
http://www.metacritic.com/browse/games/score/metascore/all/pc/filtered?sort=desc) Metacritic's Top Rated PC Games of all time list, I haven't played:
Baldurs Gate 2
Diablo
Civ 4
Company of Heroes
UT2k4
Starcraft 2
Homeworld
WoW
CoD4
(still, 21 out of 30 isn't bad)

Never played Eye of the Beholder. Why should I when Dungeon Master is one of my favourite games ever? Shit reasoning. The real reason was I didn't have hardware capable of playing it when it came out and I was too poor to afford said hardware.
Some may see it as heresy here, but I've never played the original System Shock.
And I started the original Thief, played a couple of levels then got distracted by something newer and shinier.
Zork? Nope.
I've not played any Ultima game, despite having a bevy of them in my GOG library and one in Origin. Actually, tell a little white lie: I started the one in Origin (Pagan? It was free), but couldn't get past the very first screen because the graphics were so over-pixelated, the text harsh on my eyes and the controls obtuse.
Never played Magic Carpet, one of the few Bullfrog titles I didn't play.
My history with Command & Conquer begins and ends with the original, and even that was the PS1 version. No Red Alert 1 or 2, no Yuri's Revenge. RTS for me peaked with Total Annihilation and its spiritual successor, Supreme Commander.
The Star Wars X-Wing / Tie Fighter games completely bypassed me.
I've never played FIFA. Not a single entry. The only footie games I've played are Sensible Soccer, Kick-off and some form of Football Manager on the Speccy.
Speedball 1 & 2 were just so much more compelling. And violent.
I've never played a single Final Fantasy game. Not a one, not even VII.
Actually, my earlier to mid gaming background mirrors the differences between US and UK gaming culture. Nintendo didn't factor in to my gaming at all until I got an N64, so all those SNES greats? Yep, never played them. Megadrive was the clear commercial winner in the UK, being the cheaper option. Before that, I'd owned a Speccy, then an Atari ST, mooching looks at the opposition by playing on the C64s and Amigas of friends.
There's probably loads more that you lot would be shocked to hear I've never played, but at the same time, I bet I've played some games I consider important that very few here have played.

I haven't played any of the GTA games past III. I skipped them all, knowing that, like it, it'd be something I knew I'd love for an hour or two, then get bored to tears once the thrill of wanton destruction wears off. Haven't bothered with the series since.

Not seeing Star Wars is bad enough, but no Indy Jones? I fee like I need an explanation on that.

Never played Counter Strike or Team Fortress. Never played any Halo games (although I have plenty of the toys, ironically). Never - hold your hats - played any Mario or Zelda games.
Bearing in mind I've never owned a console, and am put off by the sheer logistics of playing online, the above shouldn't be too surprising.
This year I did finally get around to Call of Duty, and have really enjoyed the three or four titles I've played thus far. I also picked up MGSV in the current Steam sale, which is my first Metal Gear experience. Again, enjoyable.
